About the home

A fabulous spacious, 3 bedroom villa set on a 700 sq.m. plot, with en-suite bathroom, large private pool and air-conditioning. It is located in one of the most prestigious golf leisure resorts in Cyprus, Secret Valley and 15 mins drive to the lovely Pissouri blue flag beach.

Villa Akanthou has spectacular sea and mountain views and sleeps 6 in comfort (7 if a baby in travel cot).

There is a rear 1st floor veranda with seating, which has spectacular views. In addition, there is also a small roof terrace, where the view just takes your breath away! There is purpose built outdoor barbecue area, with sink and electrical sockets for the all important motorised barbecue skewers

The Master Bedroom with built-in wardrobes, en-suite showeroom containing very large shower unit leading to large furnished veranda with breathtaking views.

Bedroom 2 with twin beds and built in wardrobes.
Bedroom 3 with a double bed and built in wardrobes.
There is a main bathroom with bath and wc.
There is a ground floor shower room, now with increased 70cm x 90cm shower unit and WC next to Bedroom 3.

The living area sofas have a seating capacity for 6 people, which includes a chaise long. The dining area has seating capacity for 8 people. There is a 37" LCD TV, DVD/Video, satellite system and Playstation 2 console with several games.

The air-conditioning will also heat when it is chilly. There is also a burglar and smoke alarm for added security. Arrangements can also be made for a cot and high chair if required.

We do not use air conditioning timers for our bedrooms, as this would be most inconvenient for our guests. We rely on our guests to use the air conditioning sensibly.

Barbecue, skewers and motor are provided. There is outdoor lighting, dining furniture and sun loungers.

Although this property has not been constructed or adapted for wheelchair users, it has had a ramp built in the front garden, as can be seen in the photographs.

This is to assist wheelchair, pram users, or people, who have difficulty in climbing stairs. Property does have a ground floor bedroom and shower room.

Conditions

There is a £100 non-returnable deposit when the villa is booked. The balance must be paid 6 weeks before the holiday begins.

For late bookings, within 6 weeks of departure, the balance must be paid in full on booking of the villa.

The Paphos region

There are a variety of restaurants and tavernas in the area. The nearest is just a 3 min drive from Villa Akanthou down the hill to the Secret Valley golf clubhouse. You do not have to be a member to use the facilities. Its stylish, is in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake and a very pleasant venue for lunch, mid morning coffee or an aperitif. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the restaurant is also open in the evenings.

Kouklia 5 mins from Villa - number of tavernas in Kouklia the restaurants serve good quality Greek food and wine at very competitive prices. The best of these is probably ‘Thanasis Place’ where you can enjoy good food plus traditional live music and dancing on a Saturday.

Kouklia is also of cultural interest as it is home to the ‘Sanctuary of Aphrodite’ which is worth a visit. Around 20km away, Paphos is split into 2 distinct areas, the old town (Ktima) on the hill being a vibrant market town retaining much of the traditional Cypriot charm and character, whilst the port area of Kato Paphos is distinctly more tourist orientated with an array of bars, clubs and restaurants.

The harbour is a wonderful place to relax over lunch and a drink with wonderful views of the coastline and the Mediterranean sea.

The Secret Valley Resort / Ha Potami Phase B area

Aphrodite Rock is approximately 5 minutes drive away. Nearest beach is Pissouri, which is approximately 15 minutes drive. Coral Bay and Sea Caves are only a short drive away also.

The villa is located near Paphos with views along the coast. It is 2 minutes drive to the Secret Valley Golf club, 5 minutes from Aphrodite Hills Golf, Hotel and Leisure complex, and 20 minutes from Tsada Golf club:

Secret Valley - is a challenging 5,900-metre par 71 course with fabulous views. Individual lessons are available from resident PGA Professional. There are also golf practice areas.

Aphrodite Hills - is 5 minutes drive from villa. It is an even more challenging 6,200 metre, Par 72 course.
Handicap certificate required. Excellent practice facilities and PGA professionals.

Tsada – Is 20 minutes drive from the villa. Fees and facilities similar to Secret Valley. 6,000 metre, par 71 course set high is the hills. With all of these courses playable in sunshine almost all year round, you are spoilt for choice!
In the winter months, you can go skiing in the Troodos Mountains, which is approximately 45 minutes drive away.

“Perfect Villa and Location for a relaxing holiday” Villa Akanthou meet and exceeded all our expectations, situated in a quiet location this well equiped villa was spotlessly clean and had everything we wanted for our stay. A car is essential if you are going to venture out and explore the area. The setting is idyllic, looking over open countryside and down to the coast. The swimming pool is a real gem, just for your own use, no one else ! The owners Calvin and Sandra cannot do enough to help and the team that look after the villa when you are there are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We have been many times now and look forward to returning again in the near future

“Great Holiday Villa !” This was our second year staying at Villa Akanthou and it was just as great! The whole booking process was so easy and the owners very helpful. The lady who looks after the villa is so lovely. We had problems getting the tv and dvd to work but she kept coming back to make sure we had got it going! I had toothache while out there and she also gave me the number of a dentist incase I needed it. The villa is spacecious and very clean.The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. There are plenty of areas you could go and sit if you wanted a bit of peace and quiet and the pool area is lovely. We had many lazy pool days and then went out for dinner. We often ate at Maria's in Kouklia , food was good and Maria is lovely, she would often come and sit at our table after our meal and chat! You do need a car because you are in a quiet area but main road is close and everywhere easy to get to. All in all we had a really lovely holiday and thoroughly recommend Villa Akanthou. Do not hesitate to book this villa, you won't be disappointed!

“We had an excellent weekend in villa Akanthou” From the beginning everything was perfect. The owner of the villa was very helpful and professional. His quick replies on any question assisted us in organizing our weekend very quick since we have decided 2 days prior to our arrival to book the specific villa. Representative of the owner in the island was very helpful and polite also. In respect of the villa, everything was clean, villa had everything you need in order to spend your weekend away from home. It is located in a quite area, in which you can relax with family or friends. We will definitely prefer the specific villa and recommend it to others. Do not lose your time searching for villas in Cyprus, just search for villa Akanthou and i quarantee you a great time

“A relaxing and comfortable villa with easy access to Paphos.” This was a well equipped and modern villa with a good pool and although there were close neighbours they were friendly and there were only a few houses. All rooms were fresh and comfortable with aircon/heating as required. All appliances were thought of and available. Linen was clean and fresh. There are 3 bath/shower rooms which are great, although the one downstairs serving the groundfloor bedroom is narrow but we quickly became used to it. We would revist this villa as it is considerably nicer than the advertisement photos show. The owners were most efficient and helpful. This is a well priced villa in a quiet spot but near the main road so access to all areas was very easy to attain.
