The Paphos region

Paphos Town (History and Mythology) Paphos town is strongly connected to Greek mythology and its history. Paphos was the capital of Cyprus under the Ptolemy’s, successors of Alexander the Great, when its harbour was a thriving port, and remained Cyprus’s first city for more than seven centuries under Roman rule.
Paphos enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with the greatest amounts of precipitation mainly occurring from mid-November to March. It practically never rains in the summer, but especially in July and August humidity measurments can go up to 85%. Generally speaking all seasons of the year are considered ideal for sightseeing and indeed for all kinds of outdoor activities. Summers can be sometimes hot and wet at times .Heat waves are relatively common and mostly happen during the months of July and August, when hot air masses come to Cyprus from the Sahara dessert. It is 4 mins drive away from all the amenites of Aphrodite Hills Resort with restaurants, supermarket, golf crazy, pitch and put, children's playground, outdoor cinima, tennis, volleyball football, and Word class spa.

Beaches: Coral Bay is famous for having one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the island, and with its sparkling clear waters, safe swimming and sport facilities, it’s not surprising that it’s a favourite with tourists and locals alike. Lara Bay is a beautiful remote area with one of the best beaches on the island although the dirt track is quite poor, and its advisable to go with a jeep type vehicle, it’s worth it because here some of the finest scenery on the island can be found. Latchi is a small fishing village located on the northern coast of the island with a pebble beach.
Places of interest: Akamas wildlife, Adonis baths, Aphrodite's rock, Paphos castle, Saranta Kolones and various local museums.
The Secret Valley Resort / Ha Potami Phase B area
Secret Valley is a newly established holiday vantage point teamed with two brilliant championship golf courses, it is truly a golfers paradise. Near the south coast of the island and one of the most beautiful beaches, “Petra tou Romiou” as it’s known in Cyprus, the location where Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love, was said to have emerged from the sea. Aphrodite’s Rock is a massive chunk of stone that marks the spot, her birthplace was a place of pilgrimage for the entire Hellenic world, she is said to grant those who swim around it three times eternal youth and beauty.
It is also situated next to luxury golfing and spa resort Aphrodite Hills which boasts five restaurants, a shoping complex and its own luxury spa for pamper days in the sun.
On the highway Paphos-Limassol or Limassol-Paphos you will find big signs where to exit. The nearest village is Kouklia.
