Situated within the town Savannah is the perfect base to explore the town, seafront, rugged Jurassic coastline. The Axe estuary is worth a visit with its abundance of native and migrating birds from several hides dotted along the riverbank. The area is also perfect for cyclists and walkers with the South West Coast Path passing through Seaton and an excellent walk in either direction. There is also Seaton Tramway which runs a service along the estuary stopping at Colyford and terminating at Colyton

The West Country region

East devon has a strong attraction of vistitors who have come for the first time or who are returning to get more of what the region has to offer. With much of the countryside designated as being of outstanding natural beauty and the fantastic rugged Jurassic Coastline it is not difficult to see why so many visitors flock to the region. Access to the region is excellent with a mainline rail link at Axminster and the M5 motorway junction at Exeter. There is also a very good bus service the X53 which runs every hour in the summer between Exmouth and Poole.

Seaton, Devon

The Axe Valley offers much for the visitor, there are a munber of beaches locally wich offer sand, shingle and great rock pooling and a chance to escape the crowds and get a bit of beach all to yourself if you wish. The South West Coast Path goes through Seaton and offers a great opportunity to explore the diversity of the coastline in either direction. The Axe River and estuary have been developed to encourage native and migrating bird life, there is always some thing interesting to see from one of several hides located close to the the mud flats and salt marshes.
