The West Country / Cornwall region

Cornwall is a fabulous destination for anyone seeking a well earned break. From the dramatic coastline of the north to the sheltered bays in the south, from ancient moorland to soft river estuaries, surfers, walkers, sailors, gastronauts and visitors simply seeking a break from a hectic world will discover a fascinating culture, food to die for and a naturally thrilling adventure playground.
The South West's sunny climes boast numerous top class attractions such as the world famous Eden Project, Tate St Ives, National Aquarium and National Maritime Museum, all of which are easy day visits from Seaton.
The Seaton, Cornwall area
Literally on the doorstep, Seaton Countryside Park offers a children's play area, sensory garden and cycle ways, as well as the delightful walks to view the varied wildlife including: otters, kingfishers, dormice and fritillary butterflies. The Park is also Cornwall's first Green Flag Countryside Park and Local Nature Reserve. The prestigious Green Flag Award is similar to the Blue Flag Award for clean and well maintained beaches and recognises the best green spaces in the country
Seaton is situated in the South East region of Cornwall, close to the border with Devon. Nearby Plymouth provides a wealth of high quality cuisine in the famous Barbican area along with its theatre, shops, aquarium and naval displays.
Back in Cornwall the area is steeped in history and offers the chance to explore days gone by with trips to the moors and the relics of Cornwall's mining heritage and coastal towns where smugglers plied their trade. The historic towns of Looe and Popperro are only a short drive away, or for the more adventurous, within walking distance along the beautiful coastal path. Both towns operate small fishing fleets to provide local restaurants with fresh fish and also to sell to the general public.
There are extensive cycle ways on the Camel Trail and Cardinham Woods at Bodmin. As well as the plethora of water sports offered along the coast, there is also a water sports centre at nearby Siblyback Lake. Other nearby attractions are the Monkey Sanctuary, Karting World, Hoverworld (yes you get to drive a hovercraft!), Sterts Theatre and day fishing trips from Looe.
The National Trust has properties throughout Cornwall and Devon with a number of attractions close to Seaton including Antony, Cotehele, Saltram and Lanhydrock. Nearby Mount Edgecumbe house and country park is operated jointly by Cornwall and Plymouth City Councils.
For golf enthusiasts the Whitsand Bay Golf club is a short drive away and the recently refurbished St Mellion International Resort is close by with its two championship golf courses, including the UK’s first Jack Nicklaus designed ‘Signature Course’, one of only three in England .
Chy Mor has extensive visitor information held at the property and as locals ourselves we are always happy to provide details of local attractions and events during your stay. Please ask if you have any special interests or requests.

We all had a lovely time (we were a party of 9) and thought the house was excellent, plenty of room for all of us,wonderfully clean and presentable, well furnished, had every thing we needed and more. We kept nice and fit with all the stairs and we all loved the reclining chairs. Fantastic views - great time had by all. Found the beach to be shingle/grit and not golden sand but found a wonderfull golden sandy beach at Whitesand Bay - 10 mins in the car. Also not terribly empressed with the level of service at Inn on the Shore - however the Copley Arms was fab. The cafe as well we can recommend - Great Breakfast! |
