Hastings House
About the home
Hastings House is a 5* Gold award winning self catering property. Ideal for families and groups getting together, interest groups like golfers, walkers, birdwatchers who seek luxury at the end of their day, or as we have had many, friends getting together for re-unions from across the country and even the world.
If you've brought the kids - they'll have fun making ice cream and baking with mum or gran or they might just want to while away the hours in the games room that's when the weather might not be great. When it is, you probably won't be able to get them off the beach. Re-live your youth, rockpooling, take a boat to see the seals and birdlife of the Farne Islands or explore the history of this part of England.
Hastings House has been graded 5* Gold by Visit Britain and also accredited with Pets Welcome, Families Welcome and Walkers Welcome awards.

The Northern England / Northumberland region

The North Northumberland coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of sandy beaches, Castles standing guard over the coast, wildlife breeding grounds for grey seals and puffins to name just a couple. Gateway to the Farne Islands Seahouses is a bustling harbour catering for both the small local fishing fleet and visitor boats taking day trippers, orthothologists and photographers 2 miles offshore to the outcrop of Farne Islands.
15 miles south is the dominent Alnwick Castle with its world famous Garden, Inland are more castles, historical battle fields like Flodden, fantastic walking in the Cheviots, and sections of long walks pass through the area like the end of the Pennine Way, St. Oswald's Way, St. Cuthberts Way. Cycle routes around quiet local lanes or chunks of longer rides like the Coast and Castle route 1 between Newcastle and Edinburgh. All of which make this a county of many facets, there is literally something for everyone, young or old, activity orientated or sightseeing mad there is just loads to see and do here and we're confident your break won't be long enough to do it all, or so our past visitors tell us.... - you'll just have to come back again and again....
The Seahouses area
Seahouses, once a busy fishing village, is still a bustling tourist destination. The harbour area is the embarkation point for those wishing to visit the Farne Islands, be it for birdwatching, photography or diving, and the pretty Old Quarter of the village set above the harbour, is laid out in stone built "squares". Once full of fisher lasses feaverishly splitting, salting & barreling herring for the home and European market, the squares have now been converted into a variety of cottages and although some are occupied by families who have lived in the village for many generations, in the main the properties are used as holiday homes.
Visit us in June for the Seahouses Festival and check out the website for other festivals and attractions.
Visit us during May, June, and July to see the Puffins on the Farne Islands.
Seals can be seen during the year.

Guestbook for Hastings House
10 of us came for my husbands 50th Birthday and it was perfect place. Stay in or go out both equally enjoyable! Slate Riding School you must try they are so helpful and friendly even with 10 heavy novices!
House better than on the Website.
What a truly wonderful house. 10 adults and six kids! We have had both houses Hastings and Poachers Retreat they are really fantastic. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, warm, cosy and equipped to a high standard. Thank you so much for this perfect holiday home! Happy New Year and we are all refreshed and ready to start our New Year. Truly outstanding holiday.
We have has a super weekend celebrating my Mam's 60th birthday!
Hastings House has everything you need & more! We particularly loved the Hot Tub, the snow helped in the fun too! We had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Bamburgh Castle Hotel in Seahouses.
Thank you very much! We will hopefully be back soon.
WOW what a place, in one word FANTASTIC. You have gone the extra mile to ensure that all needs are catered for. The weather has ben good, cold but dry which helps. The two seperate SKY packages kept everyone from young and old amused kids cartoons, movies and sport. The welcome pack was a very nice touch and quickly consumed. Went for lovely walks on Seahouses, Beadnell and Newton by the Sea beaches sampling the local food and ale at The Ship in Newton. Hastings House will be highly recommended to family & friends.
Our 2nd "girlie visit" - 9 plus 2 dogs. We love it here! Stacks of stuff, comfy beds, lovely en-suites, wonderful hot tub, well equipped kitchen. We used Linzi for beautifying - she came to the house and was good she qualifies in reflexology soon. Hope to return for a third year.
10 ladies aged 28 - 72 have all had a fantastic break here. Very relaxing, property is lovely, well equipped with everything we could possibly need for our pre-Christmas break. See you next year!
Five couples + one baby had a fantastic weekend. House lovely, very warm, setting beautiful and the hot tub very welcome after a hard day doing nothing! Would stay again without hesitation.
