About the home

This lovely 3 bedroom cottage is located in the heart of the historic harbour area in Seahouses. Located on a quiet street, this cottage is an ideal spot for a peaceful break but close to the local amenities. Surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. A short walk from the cottage are the many attractions of Seahouses itself. There are a great choice of pubs, shops and restaurants to choose from along Main Street. From the nearby harbour the Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips. See the colourful Puffinsand other variety of birds along with the many seals who occupy the islands. Great for families,bird lovers and geologists. Fantastic dog friendly beaches stretch for miles.For the sporty watersports and horseriding is available close by.After a busy day return to the comforts of Gable cottage, sit in front of the log burning stove on cooler evenings, enjoy a glass of wine, a portion of delicious fish and chips or some locally caught seafood . The selection of games, DVDs and books will ensure you wont have time to be bored. Or visit one of the many great pubs and restaurant, all in walking distance from the cottage before returning to you comfortable bed!

This spacious end cottage retains all its original charm whilst providing holiday makers with the an excellent standard of modern holiday accommodation.
Gable Cottage is well equipped and has been tastefully decorated to complement its original character and charm. The lounge has a fabulous open fire and comfortable soft furnishings, the dining kitchen has a dishwasher and there is a seperate utility room with washing machine and dryer. To the rear of the cottage there is a shared enclosed yard.
Bedroom 1 : King size bed with bedside tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
Bedroom 2 : Double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
Bedroom 3 : Bunk beds (bottom bunk is a double), drawers and wardrobe.
Bathroom : Electric shower over enamel bath, basin, bathroom cabinet and WC.
Kitchen : Fully equipped kitchen including cooker, fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher. Dining table with seating for six.All crockery, cutlery pots etc are provided along with cot and high chair, iron and ironing board.
Utility Room: Sink, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, cupboard and iron and ironing board.
Living Rooms : Two three seater settees, traditional log burning stove, TV, Freeview digibox, DVD player, CD radio, video, games, books and DVDs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service : Duvet, linen and towels are provided. Changed weekly for two week or longer stays.

The Seahouses area

At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. Within a short walk of the cottage are many attractions of Seahouses itself. The harbour is just around the corner and there are many pubs, shops and restaurants to choose from along Main Street.

The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips from Seahouses harbour. Great for bird lovers and geologists.

The historic town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away where you will find a thriving, historic market town with something a bit special! Even if you are not green fingered, a visit to Alnwick Gardens is a must, where you can stroll around the stunning gardens and waterfalls. Harry Potter fans of all ages should visit Alnwick Castle (or Hogwart’s School) and relive some of the favourite scenes from the popular films.

The Heritage coastline is dotted with castles and villages and stunning beaches – ideal for walking all year round. The Cheviot Hills are only a short drive away offering superb views across to Holy Island and Lindisfarne. Alternatively, a stroll along the coats to Bamburgh Castle (only 1 mile away) or a visit to Holy Island are both ideal for a family day out.

The cottage is located in Seahouses village, a few yards from the harbour. The village is easy to get to by car or public transport. There is a regular bus service from Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick.
Driving to the cottage is very straight forward, the village is signposted from the A1 north and south of Alnwick.
Cheap flights are available from many major European cities to Newcastle Airport through operators such as Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and others and the cottage is only an hours drive from the airport.
Access by train is from Alnmouth station which is on the East Coast Main Line from London to Edinburgh. Seahouses village is a short taxi ride or bus from Alnmouth.
