Home description
This charming and cosy end of terrace stone built cottage was formerly ‘The Badger’ pub in the 1800s and still retains much of its original character today. Retaining many features such as wooden beams and fireplaces, the cottage has a cosy and warm feel.
Both the lounge and dining room provide a warm and comfortable environment, where you can relax in front of the coal fire, set within the original fireplace. The cottage has night storage heaters as well as two open coal burning fires (limited fuel provided). Relax with the fire in front of a DVD, chill with a book or play a game as a group.

Seahouses area
At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. Within a short walk of the cottage are many attractions of Seahouses itself. The harbour is just around the corner and there are many pubs, shops and restaurants to choose from along Main Street.
The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips from Seahouses harbour. Great for bird lovers and geologists.
The historic town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away where you will find a thriving, historic market town with something a bit special! Even if you are not green fingered, a visit to Alnwick Gardens is a must, where you can stroll around the stunning gardens and waterfalls. Harry Potter fans of all ages should visit Alnwick Castle (or Hogwart’s School) and relive some of the favourite scenes from the popular films.
The Heritage coastline is dotted with castles and villages and stunning beaches – ideal for walking all year round. The Cheviot Hills are only a short drive away offering superb views across to Holy Island and Lindisfarne. Alternatively, a stroll along the coats to Bamburgh Castle (only 1 mile away) or a visit to Holy Island are both ideal for a family day out.
How to get there
The cottage is located in Seahouses village, a short walk from the harbour. The village is easy to get to by car or public transport. There is a regular bus service from Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick. Driving to the cottage is very straight forward, the village is signposted from the A1 north and south of Alnwick. Cheap flights are available from many major European cities to Newcastle Airport through operators such as Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and others and the cottage is only an hours drive from the airport. Access by train is from Alnmouth station which is on the East Coast Main Line from London to Edinburgh. Seahouses village is a short taxi ride or bus from Alnmouth. There is a welcome pack in the cottage containing instructions and details of local attractions. On your day of arrival, we will pop round to make sure you are settled in ok and answer any questions you may have about the local area.
Conditions
£100 deposit is required at time of booking with final balance due 4 weeks before arrival. Pets are welcome at an additional charge of £20 for a full week and £10 for a short break.

Booking notes
The cottage is available to rent on a weekly basis all year round. Short breaks are also available off-peak. A non-refundable deposit of £100 per week will be required to secure the booking. The balance to be paid 4 weeks before your holiday.
