Northern England region

Dramatic views, sandy beaches and iconic castles - this is the essence of Northumberland's coast. But our coast is not just a place to stretch your legs and forget about the cares of life amongst some of England's most stunning scenery.

The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is home to thousands of waders, geese and ducks who enjoy rich feeding available on mud flats. In the winter you might see Grey Seals, which breed on the Farne Islands off the Northumberland Coast.

Northumberland's castles are world-class, iconic buildings that echo with violent and surprising pasts. Coastal castles are our speciality and you can find some fine examples, particularly Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island and Warkworth Castle to the most famous Bamburgh Castle and not forgetting Alnwick castle and gardens.

A visit to the Farne Islands is a must to view the puffins and if you are lucky the seals will follow your boat and give you great photos to take home.

Within 20 minutes drive we have the Swan Centre which provides a great indoor pool with waves and slides, softplay and gym and in 2012 it has an indoor skating ring.

On your doorstep we have two great parks, a softplay, mini golf and amusements to keep the kids entertained.

"A proper home from home holiday"

My wife Pamela and I enjoyed our stay in this well appointed property. Its very well placed not too far from the main shopping area of Seahouses and in a quiet position near the petrol station/shop where you can get supplies of wood if you want a real fire burning.
I would recommend having Seahouses fish and chips at least once in your life so that you know what real fish and chips should taste like.
There is so much to do in the area you won't be bored there are plenty of places to visit I would recommend Alnwick castle its a bit pricey but the gardens are amazing and the artwork ( Canalettos)in the castle are stunning, another place to visit is the Grace Darling lifeboat in Bamburgh and then the Castle which is again a very special place full of history.

"A lovely comfortable cottage!!"

We had a lovely weekend staying at sea haven cottage! Its such a lovely cottage in a perfect location. We couldnt fault a thing.
Everything you would need for a self catering holiday is found in the cottage.
The owner kept in regular communication throughout the booking and was very helpful when we were worried about getting to Northumberland in the snow. Luckily the weather wasnt too bad.
It's the perfect location for exploring the Northumberland coastline.
We had a brilliant stay.
Thank you!
