The Paphos region

Paphos's boat filled harbour is the most scenic and atmospheric in the South of Cyprus. The ancient breakwaters that are still visible recall Paphos's former role as the island's Greek and Roman capital. A period that is brought vividly to life in the superb ancient mosaics that you can see in excavated villas behind the harbour.

The beautiful Lara Bay, just a few km from the villa, where the government has created a marine reserve to try and save the island's endangered green and loggerhead turtles from extinction. The area is totally devoid of hotels and other paraphernalia usually associated with Cypriot beaches.

The Akamas Peninsula is a wedge of land projecting into the sea in the far west of the Paphos region. From a cliff-lined, rock-strewn coastline fringed by blue waters, the peninsula rises steeply inland to a spine of rugged hills sparsely forested with Aleppo pine and Phoenician juniper. A better view of the Akamas is from a boat from Latchi and Paphos, or you could take a bumpy ride through it in a four-wheel drive vehicle. However to get to grips with the area the best choice is to hike.

Paphos brings together the old with the new, modern walkways in the harbour, bars and restaurants in abundance. Take time to sit and people watch while taking in a coffee. The modern shops together with the old style market in the upper region of the town, ideal for those gifts you need to take home. New from November 2013 is the King Avenue Shopping Mall, a vibrant ,modern shopping centre in the heart of Paphos.

Sea Caves

Sea Caves is a coastal resort just outside Coral Bay. The eroded coastline with the caves is amazing to walk along and explore where possible. Look out for the secret beaches, where you could probably spend all day and no one will trouble you.

Coral bay is around 8km away and is the nearest commercial area to the villa. The main street offers many supermarkets, small shops and an array of tavernas and restaurants. At night time the strip in Coral Bay comes alive wit live entertainment being offered in may venues.

Coral bay and Seacaves are part of the Peyia district. Peyia village is still very traditional and you will see a great mix of expats living in amongst the local Cypriots. The local tavernas offer a warm welcome and good prices.

"Breath-taking views with all the amenities"

My husband and I flew in from Larnaca and after a two hour car ride, it was such a pleasure arriving at Villa Seascape. The house was in immacualte condition and one thing that stood out was that is was not cluttered, all the decor was very minimal. After unpacking we headed right for the infiniti pool for a swim (and the views of the sea caves from the pool are amazing). We had a great time in Peyia/Paphos area. We highly recommend Fettas restaurant in Paphos and there was a great bakery up in Peyia village. The beaches are just beautiful. The house was great because there is a small private beach/cove just steps from the house and if you wanted to do people watching the beaches of Coral Bay are a 5-7 minute drive from the house. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
