The Paphos region
Paphos has something for everyone. There are historical sites such as the Roman mosaics and the Tombs of the Kings. There are many coastal walks if you like to escape the hustle and bustle of the tourist resorts. The main beaches are at Coral Bay resort and are sandy. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a short drive will take you up to the more traditional village of Kathikas with its winery and tavernas. Peyia and Coral Bay have all amenities.
There is a waterpark in Paphos which is great fun for both children and adults and a Bird and Animal Park not far from Sea Caves. If you enjoy horse-riding there are stables in Sea Caves too. If golf is your thing then the area has several fabulous courses.
Sea Caves is a stunning location with its rugged coastline and famous caves. It is great for walking, quad biking and scuba diving. Close by is the Akamas Peninsula which is home to the famous Turtle Bay, the nesting place for turtles. The Last Castle restaurant can also be found here and is well worth a visit. A four wheel drive vehicle is preferable for exploring the Akamas.
Coral Bay is a lively resort in the Summer months with its many restaurants and bars. Most types of cuisine can be tasted here. The two beaches are Coral Bay and Corallia Beach. St Georges Bay is home to a small fishing marina and secluded bay and is a lovely walk.
Pegeia is a hillside village close by and has a few tavernas and bars and all amenities that you will need. There is also a gym here and beauty salon. Christmas and Easter are big celebrations in Cyprus and you will see the villages come to life at these times.
