The Sicily region
Sicily is a big Island with a lot of sightseeing. under Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman and Spanish rule. The Greek temples of Agrigento Segesta and Selinunte are some of the best preserved in the world. Nov- Dec are the rainiest days in Italy, but Sicily is at its best in spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November).Just a little sprinkling on few days. The scenery is beautiful, the temperatures are pleasant and there are relatively few crowds. Sciacca, is situated on the "African coast" of the island, between the ruins of the acropolis of Selinunte and the The valley of the temples of Agrigento.
Sciacca area
Sciacca is a fishing town situated on the famous archeological road between Selinunte and Agrigento in Sicily, is one of the oldest towns in the island.Thermal spa, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, biking, trekking. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour The real heart of the town centre is steeped in history and ancient architecture of Moorish, and baroque style, ancient alleyways and courtyards. A labyrinth of houses and streets, some of which can be narrow enough to fit only a single person at a time. Throughout alleys and little squares of the port area and the town centre there are many restaurants, which all serve delicious (sea-)food. To Salvatore and Pascale, Just can't thank you enough for our warm welcome and help booking tours when we were in Sciacca this June. I know you have alot of people passing through, we are the couple from Florida with 2 sons 16 and 21(we stayed in the Casa Pauline). Just wanted to let you know that I posted a review on TripAdvisor and how Sciacca was our favourite place in Italy. Salvatore my sons talk alot about our fishing trip that you arranged with Enzo. We found out when we came home that many years ago my husbands Grandparents brought some of their children to the thermal baths to be healed. We to hope one day that we get to come back and spend more time at your place. Thanks Again, Mary F.
Hi Pascale and Salvatore Just a quick email to thank you both very much for everything you did to help make our holiday so wonderful. The apartment suited us perfectly, and we really appreciated your friendliness, advice and information, CDs, and welcome basket - especially the supply of delicious apricots and olive oil! Once again, thank you both very much for everything, and we wish you every success with your farming and accommodation. John and Michael
Dear Pascale After we got back to Switzerland safely last Friday I would like to thank you again for the warm welcome and your kind hospitality. We all enjoyed our stay immensely. The setting in the valley and the house itself are most beautiful and has a calming effect on people. All of us intend to come back some time and hopefully for a longer period than just for one week. With pleasure, we will recommend yor house to friends of ours who intend to visit Sicily. Beat
Hi Pascale I just wanted to say thank you for our great stay with you. The house is a lovely place to stay, and in a beautiful setting, even in March! We had an amazing time just relaxing and looking to see what there is around the area. We visited a lot of archeological sites, such as Selinunte, Eraclea Minoa and Valle di Templi, and were amazed by all of them. Sciacca is a very pretty place, and we had a lovely day exploring the old town. I would recommend a stay with you to anyone. With best wishes Kerry & Richard B.
