This is a fantastic ski area with miles of traditional tree lined skiing with typical Austrian ski-huttes on the slopes.
This modern yet traditional quality apartment is decorated and furnished to a high standard, and has all modern appliances. The apartment is very cosy, heated by both central and underfloor heating and comfortably sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a super queensize bed, and one bedroom has adult twin beds. The apartment opens out onto an open plan garden via french door, from which to enjoy the amazing scenery. If golf is your summer hobby, you will be interested to know that the Golf Professional for the Dachstein -Tauren golf course which is overlooked by this apartement, lives locally and takes private lessons which we can arrange for you.. The apartment lies at an altitude of 750m, with the top of Haus Mountain, 2019m, only a cable car ride away. The views are breathtaking, and the mountain air simply invigorating. A warm Austrian welcome awaits you in this very traditional village, where before you know it ,everyone knows your name.

One bedroom has a super king-size bed, the other has two adult size single beds. Both bedrooms have remote controlled satellite TV's, and spectacular mountain views.
The bathroom is equipped with toilet / shower / wash basin as well as both underfloor heating and heated towel rail.
The open plan kitchen / dining / living area has a leather couch, dining table for 4-5 and modern kitchen with microwave, fridge with small freezer, dishwasher, full size cooker with hob, toaster, kettle and coffee maker.

There is off road parking for two cars-under cover parking for one car, and in winter there is storage for skis and boots, adjacent to the apartment.
The apartment opens out via french doors onto an open plan garden sloping down to the road, and guests are invited to make use of the garden to enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Conditions
A 25% (non-refundable) booking fee is required at the time of booking. Full payment for the apartment is required 12 weeks prior to the start of the holiday, as well as a security deposit of £100, returnable in full, (providing no damages occur), on receipt of the keys. A final cleaning fee is also required. In Winter, linen (towels and bed linen) is charged @ 7.5 euros per person per week. In summer, included in the letting price. As with all european accommodation, tourism tax for adults is 1.5 euros per day. Summer card option is included in the price.

This 'Ski Amande’ region is a fantastic unspoilt ski area of outstanding natural beauty with incredible scenery. It offers 223 km of traditional skiing over 4 inter-connecting mountain ranges. There are 109 cable cars and chair lifts with a variety of runs for all abilities. 2 main gondolas are accessible in the village of Haus, and a ski- bus stop is just a few metres from the apartment. This resort upgrades itself every year with constant changes and improvements. This year there are 2 more extended pistes, and 2 more new 8 seater chair lifts!
There is an English speaking, Austrian ski school in the village, for both improving skiers, and those learning, on nursery slopes.
Typically Styrian on-piste cafes and restaurants are always close at hand. Lift passes and equipment are available in the village.
The Ski season typically begins early December, and runs well into spring usually until 1 week after Easter. For the real enthusiast the Dachstein glacier nearby offers year-round skiing!
The Schladming area is the premium skiing, hiking and cycling area in all Styria, and is the most fantastic holiday destination in winter and summer. In summer there is so much to see and do, listed below, or just relax taking in the fantastic scenery!
This is a fantastic base for family holidays, with an amazing amount of activities for all ages, from small children to teenages and adults.
GOLF:
The apartment is within a 10 minute walk and overlooks the Dachstein Tauern Golf and Country Club, where golf is definitely stimulating enough to return to do battle! It was designed by Germanys US Masters champion ‘Bernhard Langer’, and is a course on many different elevations with a river, and ponds making up water features and bunkers which lie flat to the green leading you into cunning traps before you see them! You may find it difficult to concentrate with the 360 degree fantastic alpine scenery, in this area described as the jewel in the crown of all Styria. We can arrange personal lessons with the resident golf professional who lives nearby and speaks excellent english!

We are able to introduce you to an English speaking ‘adventurer’ who can organise many exciting outdoor activities from climbing, hiking, paragliding, mountain bike treks and down hill mountain biking in the summer to snow shooing, off piste ski adventures and basic ski lessons in the winter.

Take in a truly spectacular traditional event, and parade through the Talbachklamm with torches and light the Talbachklamm into a mystical world of angels, storytellers and musicians.

The Schladming / Haus im Ennstal area
-The apartment is nestled in the Enns valley between the impressive Dachstein and Tauern mountain ranges, offering pristine lush green alpine meadows, over 300 crystal clear tarns and invigorating mountain air -and with a population of only 31,148 for the entire region, being over-crowded is never a problem!
Within the village (10 mins walk):
The unspoilt village of Haus has a huge number of marked hiking and cycling routes on hand, as well as crazy golf, pit-pat, tennis, football, basketball, and an open air swimming pool with fantastic views and feature slide. Table tennis, museums, shops and a supermarket, hairdresser and masseur, are also available in the village. There are wonderful, friendly, traditional bars and restaurants, a bakery, church, town hall, dentist and tourist information office, all in the village. A Traditional cable car to the mountain peak - 2000m is 10 mins walk away from the apartment, and is open summer and winter for hiking/skiing. The Dachstein -Tauern golf course , one of the 4th best courses in Austria, is open to non-members and is within 10 mins walk/2 mins drive of the apartment.
The small but world renowned bustling city of Schladming, home of the national Austrian ski school, is just 5 mins drive away, with its world cup ski run into the village. This converts into a mountain cycling run in the summer, with regular competitions held. White water rafting is on hand for the more adventurous in summer months, as well as a 10 km carting track at Rorhmoos, which converts to a sledge/toboggan run in winter!
There seems to be a traditional festival/celebration most weekends locally in the summer, and 'Grampus' night in Schladming in early December is definitely not to be missed!

Fly:
Haus im Ennstal is just under 1 hour drive from Salzburg airport.
Budget airline Ryan Air operates twice daily to Salzburg, and Thompson Fly also operates during winter months
We havre found Linz airport really good, cheaper car rental and very easy to find the apartment from main road systems. Linz Airport is between 90-120 minutes away.
Budget airlines also fly to klagenfurt (2 hours) and Graz (2 hours)
Munich airport is approximately 2.5 hours away, (with regular flights from London Stansted and Manchester)
Train:
A tram ride trom Salzburg airport to Salzburg station takes approximately 15-20 minutes. The train to the nearest station - Schladming is about a 1.5 hour journey. Haus is 5 minutes taxi ride from Schladming.
Car:
Haus is approximately 12 hours from Calais on very good road networks.

Mr and Mrs K Sharp stayed in the apartment over February half term for skiing, and loved the area, the views and the skiing that they immediately booked to return next year, saying that they have never stayed in such a pristine and modern apartment!
Mrs Gibbs stayed in the apartment in August with her son, and was overwhelmed by the views, the traditional peacefulness of the area,and the vast variety of activities available.
Mary and her family said 'thank you for a wonderful holiday, the apartment was great, and weather brilliant. You don't say just how stunning the views actually are! Can we book for next year?
Julia and John said, 'thanks for letting us stay in Haus. We had a brillaint summer holiday, there was so much to do with the children. The summer cards were really good, we saved lots of money at all of the local attractions, especailly the cable car rides to the top of the Haus mountain. Also loved the local pool. 'Danke!'
Easter Guests had never skiied in Austria before, but are 'converted', and will definitely return for the spectacular views, wonderful skiing and friendliness of the locals - the children also really enjoyed sledging, bowling and the open air concerts!
'Thank you for a fantastic holiday. The apartment was of a very high standard and lovely and clean. The views were amazing. Weather was perfect and hot and we loved swimming in the local pool and swimming lakes. So much to do for all the family- our children are 13 and 15 .They especially loved the tree climbing adventure and the white water rafting, as well as the tobbogonning. We will definitely tell our friends, and hope to return next year! Thank You! Margaret and family."
