Haus Heidi is a traditional Austrian chalet situated in a beautiful Alpine position on a Plateau (1200 metres high) above the Enns valley in the pretty village of Ramsau (famous for the Cross-country skiing World Championships 2006). Ideally located for Alpine skiing (860km piste on 1 lift pass), cross country skiing (track passes house) and winter holidays. The Dachstein Glacier is just 12km away and is open both summer and winter. In the summer the house is surrounded by alpine meadows with an abundance of high and low level walks, horse riding, climbing, lake swimming, cycling, archery...
Shops, restaurants, post office, bakery are within easy walking distance of the apartment.

The Styria/Steiermark region
Steiermark is located in the southeast of Austria. In area, it is the second largest of the nine Austrian states. It borders Slovenia as well as the other Austrian states of Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Burgenland, and Carinthia. The capital city is Graz and the area is rich in local history. Italy, Slovenia and Hungary are easilly acessible by car (3 hours) In winter the area is a popular ski area forming part of the largest ski alliance in Europe (Ski Amade with 860 km of slopes on 1 pass). The Dachstein Glacier is the furthest Easterly Glacier in Europe at just 2700 meters (open summer and winter). Salzburg is the nearest city (90km) with Graz 2 hours away.
Schladming area
Ramsau is situated on a Plateau 1200metres high at the foot of the Dachstein mountains (2700m) which are the highest in peaks in this reigon, famous for its high snow sure flat pastures and in summer high Alpine meadows, Ramsau is a stunning location with far reaching views across the Dachstein Tauern reigon. The market town of Schladming with its buzzing pavement cafes is just 12 km away and is the base for the main Alpine ski area in this region. Situated in Ramsau Kulm there are shops, cafes, rerstaurants within easy walking distance. The village has great facilities- swimming pool, swimming lake, tree top climbing, children's climbing hall, cycle paths, 200km of cross country skiing sunny south facing children's slopes, sleigh rides/ horse riding and lots of room for snowmen!
How to get there
Ramsau is situated on a plateau above Schladming and the Dachstein Tauern ski area (Ski Amade) approximately 90km (1 hours drive) from Salzburg airport which is served by several budget airlines (Ryan Air, Thompson, Flybe, British Airways). Schladming (12km away) is easily accessible by train from Salzburg and the village has an excellent bus service with a stop just 50 metres from the house. Salzburg has all the usual car hire companies. Several bus companies run a budget service to Ramsau one for as little as 42 euros return from Salzburg www.reisen-habersatter.at -you can pre book this for a guaranteed place. If you intend driving it takes approximately 10 hours from Calais to Schladming. Munich airport (235km 2.5 hours) Graz airport (2 hours).

Further details indoors: The apartment has been recently refurbished and newly decorated to a professional standard with new appliances including a dishwasher, washer dryer, newly fitted kitchen, LCD flat screen tv with DVD player, wireless internet connection. The property is to the side of the house on two levels with no flats above or below- it feels like a separate building and is in a quiet location! The accommodation is light and airy with large rooms, separate kitchen and large dining area. The balcony is south west facing and has enough room to comfortably sit out on. The two double bedrooms have Austrian style double beds with 2 single mattresses, big Austrian Pillows, duvets, throws, table linen and tea towels are included.
Further details outdoors: The house has ample parking, and around the house open space for children to sledge in winter and play in summer. There is a heated boot room for skis/ski boots in winter/ bike storage/ outdoor equipment storage.
