Walking and Cycling: The backdrop of the Sliabh Aughty Mountains provides a beautiful place to go hiking or for a long cycle. In recent years a series of different walks have been marked out in the area. The system of trails is known as The East Clare Way. The trails are well signposted and of differing lengths so that they cater for most people. The local community was also involved in the Woodpark project which set up a series of walking treks in local woodland some years ago.

The County Galway/County Clare region

Golf: There is a nine hole golf course and eighteen hole pitch and putt about one mile from the village. The green fees are very reasonable and fantastic views of the lake and surrounding mountains can be had from the well-kept fairways.

This stunning property is located 1.4 miles from Mountshannon village, 7 miles from Scariff in East Clare. Situated on 2 acres and surrounded by forest it is tastefully furnished and boasts a large decked area with a separate BBQ area perfect for alfresco dining. The village of Mountshannon has shops, lively pubs and restaurants.

There are 6 Bicycles available 2 childrens bikes and 4 adult bikes.

"Nicht empfehlenswert !!!"

Extrem schmutzig. Mussten zuerst alles Nötige putzen. Schwierig da keine Putzmittel vorhanden waren. Vieles unbrauchbar wg. Schmutz und defekt. Unzureichend möbliert. Versiffte Matratze. Haus und Um… More

Having spoken with my cleaner who is quite adamant that everything was spotless when she left the house. Incidentally this is the same lady used for previous guests and we have had no complaints about cleanliness so therefore I can only apologise most sincerely that the house did not meet the standard the guests expected.
We also, in future will endeavour to leave more cleaning products out for guests. We are not quite sure what 'insufficiently furnished' means as it wasn't very specific but we would have thought that if anything the house has everything to make one's stay more pleasant. Though there are mattress protectors on all beds, we take on board the complaint about one of the mattresses and will be following up on this.
Finally with regard to the bottle of gas going over the weekend (which is unfortunate, in that being the country there were no shops open to replace), there is clearly a need to have a spare one in stock should this happen again.
Again, we apologise for what was obviously an unpleasant experience and rest assured we will be addressing all issues raised.
