Northern England region
The Yorkshire coastline encompasses some of the UK's most rugged and charming countryside, from tiny fishing villages clinging to rocky cliffs to glorious stretches of white sand and family-friendly seaside resorts, with everything from windswept abbeys to the county's best fish and chips. Nothing if not diverse, expect Blue Flag beaches, chilly feet if you brave the sea and a chance to lose yourself in this naturally beautiful destination.
Cayton Bay, 10 minutes walk away, is a favourite with surfers, bird watchers and fossil hunters or those who just want to relax and admire this area of unspoilt natural beauty. Learn the art of surfing at a nationally recognised surf school, established in 1989. The school can arrange lessons by appointment while the more experienced can hire boards and wet suits.
Walk along the edges of the cliffs and discover a variety of fossils, millions of years old. You will see rocks formed in the upper Jurassic period around 150 million years ago. Cayton Bay 4 miles south of Scarborough.
The caravan is situated on Heron 6, adjacent to the David Bellamy Nature Trail, ideal for sitting and relaxing on the uPVC veranda on an evening.
Cayton Bay Holiday Park:
5 minutes walk to the Entertainment Centre with Sparky's Krew Club to quality cabaret and bands, to theme nights, thrilling family shows, games and competitions. incorporates bars & restaurants, takeaways available. Indoor Waterworld Fun Pool with water-jets, slides, fountains and flume.
Outside activities include an all-weather multi-sports court, an adventure playground, volleyball and basketball, plus a crazy golf course.
