About the home

Fully furnished holiday gite with many original features complete with modern amenities providing spacious accommodation in beautiful countryside location. The property is situated in approx. 2.5 acres of garden with plenty of space for children to play safely, together with a newly-installed above-ground pool, 9.5 x 4.5m with decking area and children's pool. Many other outdoor toys & activities available.

The gite has an open-plan kitchen, dining room and living room donwstairs with staircase leading to Master bedroom with en suite facilities. Also downstairs are 2 double bedrooms, shower room and separate WC. Extra beds and travel cots can be provided if required..

Nearest shops and restaurants approx. 5kms away in Sauze-Vaussais.

A generous welcome pack including tea, coffee, milk, bread etc. and a bottle of wine awaits you on your arrival.

A non refundable deposit of 25% is required on booking and the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure or immediately if booking is made within 8 weeks of departure date.
£150 security deposit required upon booking, refundable within 7 days of departure provided there has been no damage or breakages.

Conditions

Smoking is not permitted inside the property. Short term breaks during off-peak season only.
Long-term lets available between September and April.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Deux Sevres region

This region is the second sunniest area in France making it attractive all year round.
Here are some of the attractions we recommend you see.
Valley of the Monkeys about 30 minutes away, here you can discover over 350 primates, 30 species, where you can come in contact with them in a very natural setting. There is also a farm nursery with sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and rabbits you can pet.
Futuroscope the second largest theme park in France.Approximately 45 minutes drive,an exciting day for the whole family.
Poitiers: The regions capital. Here you will find lots of architectural and historical interest, with its cathedral, museums and churches also good for shopping.
Marais Poitevin - "Green Venice" - approx. 40 minutes drive, hire a boat and explore the waterways.
Golf course at Mazieres en Gatine - approx. 1 hours drive.
Cognac - famous for its distilleries and the famous spirit as well as the local speciality Pineau.
Many local towns & villages have markets and car boot sales throughout the Summer.

The Sauze Vaussais / Clussais- la- Pommeraie area

The local market town of Sauze Vaussais is only a 10 minute drive away, fresh local produce in abundance on Thursdays & Saturdays. There you will find two supermarkets (one of which is a large Super U ) There is also a variety of boulangeries, tabacs and other small shops including a beauticians. There are several restaurants and cafes, including mobile fish n chips two nights per week. We also have a large lake just outside the village with fishing facilities, crazy golf, picnic area, slides and climbing frames for children.

“The ideal get away, peaceful, restful but plenty for the kids” Spent two lovely weeks at these cottages. Very clean and beautifully restored and decorated. Swimming pool, grounds and games room were great for kids (age 9,7 and 5) and for the adults. Cyril and Agnes and their grand-daughter Tamela were very welcoming and made us feel extremely comfortable. They were not intrusive but were on hand when we needed them. The kids enjoyed the freedom the location offers. Bicycles were made available and the men enjoyed a cycle to a local boulangerie for bread in the morning. Plenty to do within short drive and because it's not a big tourist area most places of interest we visited were quiet. Coast and beaches about 1 hours 20 mins drive. We did go off and explore but to be honest much of the time was spent relaxing at the cottages and everyone was happy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you to Cyril and Agnes for their hospitality (and for tomatoes, pavlova and scones) we hope to be back very soon.

“Nice Rural Gite in good location for interesting day trips” Spent a lovely week here. Lovely clean house, very well restored in a quiet location. Owners very helpful, friendly and honest. Good location for us. We travelled most days (less than 1 hour) to interesting places - for example Chateau de Rochefoucauld (kids & adults can dress in medivial costumes), lazy day boating in the marsh in Marais Poitevin (near Niort). Gite convienent to Angouleme, Poitiers and Niort.. Pool and pool area very nice on hot days. Kiddies paddling pool also. On quiet road so possible for kids to cycle on roads also.
