About this location

The Piedmont region

Sauze is an excellent value, big and fun resort with extensive slopes and access to the Milky Way terrain. The resort sits on a mountain shelf with impressive views of the towering mountains. Boarders will enjoy the big open pistes and intermediates are spoilt for choice with access to over 400km of runs.

The resort is lively at night with plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs. There is also an attractive and quieter old part with narrow streets, quaint properties and good restaurants.

In addition to skiing, Sauze does have many off-piste activities include a snow park, ice-skating, bowling, cinema, and saunas. The resort is family friendly

"Excellent town, great skiing, rubbish flat"

Sauze D'Oulx was a great little town and the skiing and conditions were ideal for us. It's a bit of a walk from Sauze 4 to the Clotes lift, but the Blue Line ski bus will take or collect you from the Villa Besson door right to this and another lift. Two bathrooms, warmth and hot water were just what was needed after a day on the slopes. The apartment was less successful. The apartment Villa Besson No 12 was not the same as the photographs of Sauze 4 on the website. Furnished sparsely with tired old left-over furniture, there was only one bedside light and the rest single ceiling bulbs. There was no kettle, tiny cups and not even a bottle opener or corkscrew. The kitchen had a €70 cleaning charge if you didn't do it yourself, and there was nothing other than a brush and mop. Cloths, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets all had to be found. There was a dishwasher, but the softener and powder lid catches were broken and no hint of salt. There were no bins except in the bathrooms. I didn't use supermarket bags for rubbish as a student and didn't want to start 30 years later. The cooker and hob were unsafe. Touch the cooker or hob at the same time as the sink and you got a nasty shock! Excellent town for a holiday, a great week of skiing, rubbish flat.
