Villa Minvielle is located in a quiet village with peaceful walks along the Gave d'Oloron (River) where you can spend a sunny afternoon paddling in the clear mountain waters. Our local Spa town is a 10mins drive and offers a wide range of cafes, shops, local markets and many excellent restaurants offer a 3 course lunch for 13 Euros.

The cosmopolitan city of Pau and the Atlantic beaches of Biarritz are 40mins away, travel a further 15mins and you will reach the Spanish boarder, Lourdes and the Pyrenees mountains.The area offers a wide choice of activities including spending a day pampering yourself at the Spa, fishing, golf, white water sports, horse riding, surfing and of course peaceful walks through the Pyrenees mountains.

We also offer HOLISTIC SPA HOLIDAYS under our own brand name Pyrenees-Connection These holidays are very popular with those looking for a relaxing retreat with a personal touch. Our ALL inclusive holistic holidays include gourmet regional food, wine tasting and a wide choice of daily complimentary therapies to help you relax, de-stress and unwind. The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Pyrenees Atlantiques region

This corner of South West France has a lovely sunny climate with plenty of outdoor activities including lazy days at the beachs of Biarritz or Hossgoron, hiking the high Pyrenees or strolling through the lower valleys exploring the traditional mountain villages.

Great location for off piste skiing at Iraty or the challenging downhill ski resorts of La Pierre Saint-Martin and Gourette.
French people have been choosing to skiing in the Bear/Basque region of France as it is very inexpensive and not overcrowded like some other resorts, so if you enjoy the thrill of untouched white powder snow this would be a great location for your next winter ski holiday.

The Villa is only 5 mins away from the Pay Basque region of France with their unique culture,architecture and food. Enjoy lunch in the Basque town of St-Jean-Pied-de-Port which is renowed for it's mountain pork and fresh water trout or get lost in the many chocolate shops of Bayonne!!

Spain makes a great day trip for enjoying the Pintox (Tapa's) in the many bar's and restaurants of San Sebastien and is only a short drive from the Villa

Sauveterre de Bearn / Abitain area

The villa is 5mins from the Medieval Cite of Sauveterre de Béarn, which has all your local amenities and a lovely little tea house located on the banks of the river with spectacular views to the Pyrénées. You can also hire bikes in the town or take part in the many watresports on offer, including white water rafting and canoeing.
The clear mountain waters of the Gave d'oloron are famous for hosting the annual world fishing championships runs through Sauveterre and meanders through our village (5mins walk from Villa).Tourist permits can be purchased from any of the local Tobac or fishing tackle shops for 30 euros for 15 days. Fishing season March to September. Many of our guests enjoy walking down to the river from the Villa and spending the afternoon fishing.

The local Spa town of Salies de Béarn is only 10mins away and has an outdoor swimming pool, great for cooling off on those hot summer days, there is also a casino and a wide selection of cafes, restaurants, coffee shop, a supermarket as well as a weekly market on a Thursday morning. Salies is known locally as Venice Béarnaise because of the gentle canal which flows through the town lapping gently against the traditional timbered Béarnaise houses. You can visit the Thermal Spa and pamper yourself with the many treatments on offer.

Salies is renowned for it's annual festival.

Tourist offices are located at Sauveterre and Salies.

How to get there

-Cheap flights available from Ryanair or Easyjet direct to Biarritz and Pau airport.

-The Villa is located 40mins drive from Biarritz and Pau airport along the stress free autoroute.

-Car hire is available from all major hire companies located at airport.

-We are very easy to find being only 10mins from the autoroute.

*The Grande bedroom, leading off of the lounge, has 2 double beds and lovely sunny views over the garden making this an ideal family room. This room also has a lockable adjoining double bedroom.

* Outdoor swimming pool at our local Spa town (Great for family days out)

*Secure off road parking available for 3 cars.

The courtyard provides plenty of shade for enjoying dining alfresco and the large enclosed sunny grassed garden area allows plenty of room for children of all ages to play games while you sit back and relax on the sun loungers enjoying the sunshine and a nice glass of chilled local wine.

Conditions

To confirm your booking of your holiday we require a deposit of £200 for the villa and the same per person for our all inclusive spa packages with the balance due 6 weeks before the start of your holiday. We also require a £200 holding deposit paid 6 weeks before arrival, which will be refunded in full within 7 day of departure, providing there has been no damage to the property or it’s contents. All prices quoted are per week Saturday to Saturday, to allow us time to clean the Villa we ask that you arrive no earlier than 5pm and vacate by 10.00am.

Our All inclusive spa packages include continental breakfast, Table d'hotes evening menu with an apero drink, 0.5 bottle or carafe of wine, a digestif after dinner drink, and open bar of soft drinks including fruit juices, water and of course also a daily holistic treatment.We charge £150 single persons occupancy supplement for our spa breaks but this will be refunded as a deposit should you book another spa package with us for the following year.
