The house was built in 2004 to a high standard. It is fully furnished and well equipped with modern domestic appliances. It stands on a plot approx half a hectare(an acre). There are other house nearby but none so close as to intrude. The property is not overlooked. It has excellent views over the countryside. The countryside is very attractive and suitable for walking in summer, not far for the beaches nor from the mountains for walking in summer or skiing in winter...all about 40 mins away. The nearest large towns are Pau to the East and Bayonne/Biarritz to the West...each about 40 mins drive. Each has an airport with car hire facilities.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Pyrenees Atlantiques region
Sauveterre is set near the foothills of the Pyrenees in farming country. The climate is excellent in summer and usually fairly mild in winter although there can be cold snaps and rain.The winters tend to be quite short with spring starting in mid-late February. The autumn is usually very agreeable for those who prefer a slightly out-of-season break.
Sauveterre de Bearn area
Pau, Bayonne and Biarritz are all towns of great interest with much to see and explore. They all have excellent shopping. Lourdes is not far away just south of Oloron-Ste-Marie.
The Spanish border is within easy driving distance and it is possible to visit towns such as Pamplona and San Sebastian without difficulty.
There are several markets nearby selling local produce.
How to get there
Property situated in Burgaronne, 3kms NW of Sauveterre-de-Bearn. SW France. Frequent flights especially in summer to Pau Pyrenees and Biarritz(Anglet). TGV stations at Dax (39 kms NW), Puyoo (16kms N) & Orthez (26 kms N). Good road links N10(Bordeaux-Bayonne) and A64 ( Bayonne-Orthez-Pau). Leave A64 at Junct 7 for Salies-de-Bearn. D933 to Sauveterre then D23 from centre of Sauveterre. Burgaronne is 3kms NW. Turn Left at the church (NB. Road narrows to 3m at one point!). House is 300m on your right.
