The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Pyrenees Atlantiques region
The house is situated in the Bearn region, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The countryside is green and rolling with the mountains as a back drop.
The climate is very mild all the year round, and summers are hot with plenty of sunshine.
The nearest town, Sauveterre de Bearn is medieval with a 12th church. The very attractive town of Salies de Bearn is ten km away, while nearby Pau and Biarritz are both very attractive and entertaining towns. We are on the edge of the Basque country with its unique culture and folklore.
Further afield, the Spanish town of Pamplona (famous for its bull-running festival) is one and a half hours away, while the Basque capital of Bilbao and the Guggenheim museum are three hours from here.
Sauveterre de Bearn area
This property and the surrounding area are perfect for swimming in summer and skiing in the winter. Depending on how energetic you feel, a wealth of outdoor activities are on offer, including tennis, whitewater rafting, riding, golf, walking and bicycling in the mountains and - during the winter months - skiing in the majestic Pyrenees, just 75 minutes' drive from here!
During the summer there is a wealth of festivals available in the local area. Fishing is available when permited.
How to get there
Soule is just 55km away from Biarritz and Pau airport. Cheap flight available with Ryan Air. As from June Easyjet will fly from Gatwick to Biarritz. British Airways flights to Bordeaux , train journey to Dax and Puyo, Orthez to follow. Car hire available at all airports.

Further details indoors: On the ground floor there is a large sitting room with high cieling. It has a sofa and comfortable chairs as well as a television. There is a dining area with a large dining table. The kitchen is all modern with top of the range appliances such as an american fridge, gas hob and electric hob, dishwasher.
There is a shower room with italian shower, washing machine and downstairs loo. We also find a study with antique furniture and a second sitting room with antique fireplace, and a corner sitting area, all in all very cosy. Both sitting rooms open onto terraces and the pool.
An antique staircase leeds onto a very large landing with a large bathroom and loo. On the same level we find a double bedroom with antique cupboard and chest of drawers. A few steps up we will find a twin bedroom with dressing area and the master bedroom with also a large dressing area.
A new staircase leeds to the attic. There we find a double bedroom with a very large bed and cloak room en suite. Accross a landing there is a single bedroom.
The house is decorated to very highstandards using good quality furniture and furnishings.
On the second floor there is a single bedroom and a double with wash hand basin and WC en suite.
The house is furnished with antique furniture.There is a terrace at the front and at the side with garden furniture.
There is a swimming pool.
Further details outdoors: The house stands on its own land ; the garden is newly planted. The swimming pool is new. 4M wide X 8M long. There is two terraces, one at the front of the house, the other one at the side has dining table, chairs and parasol.Barbeque available.
