Les Rosiers is our garden gite, quietly located and adjacent to the main house where the owners live. The property is newly refurnished to a very high stand. It looks out down the garden to the deer park and foothills of the Pyrenees, the mountain views are only visible at certain times of the year though!

There is also a salt water pool (heated) available throughout the day and there's a small patio with gas BBQ with table/chairs/loungers.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Pyrenees Atlantiques region

History surrounds this place. Beautiful, medieval towns and spas have their own stories of times past. The story of Queen Sauncie in Sauveterre or the legend of the wild boar in Salies de Bearn. Summer here is full of traditional village fetes to celebrate the farm animals or the maize and also vide granier (empty your attic). Walk around the ramparts in Navarranx where you can also visit the Tavern de Compostella or find the hidden Roman fountain. The chateau at Laas is well worth some exploration followed by lunch under the plane trees at the nearby La Fontaine restaurant. Under an hour's drive and you're at Bidart between St.Jean de Luc and Biarritz ... magnificent sea views across to Spain. Less than 2 hours and you can be at San Sebastien for a day's shopping in Spain. The choice is endless.

Sauveterre de Bearn area

We are 3kms from Sauveterre de Bearn: The 12-14th centuries are evident everywhere here. Explore Sauveterre or Salies to find those hidden places of historic interest you might never find otherwise. Sauveterre de Bearn (safe terrirory) was the home of Gaston de Febus (12thc) and tales of him and his beautiful wife abound in these parts. There's also the story about the discovery of the salt lake in Salies from which sprang this wonderful spa town. The Bearn is adjacent to Basque Country and a short drive will take you into quite a different countryside. You can't help but fall in love with this region. The major fetes in Salies and Sauveterre are worth planning your visit around. Sauveterre has everything you'll need for self-catering.

Ryanair from Stansted to Pau Pyrenees or Biarritz (both are 1 hour's drive away)
Bordeaux Airport (from other regional airports in the UK) is 2 hour's drive south)
Les Rosiers is between 9-12 hours driving from northern French ports
Northern Spain ports will take between 2-3 hours to reach us

Our property is located 3kms outside of the medieval "city" of Sauveterre de Bearn and approx 9kms from the spa town of Salies de Bearn. Property located in Andrein en route Laas.

Quiet retreat for your holiday; somewhere comfortable for the days "at home" by the pool or evenings on the terrace but within easy driving distances of wonderful sigthtseeing. Things nearby: fishing for salmon, canoeing/rafting, walks, medieval villages, spa treatments and golf/tennis. 1 hour to: mountains, beaches, cities of Pau, Biarritz and St. Jean de Luc. Spainish coast and San Sebastien just over one hour.

We prefer letting by the week but would consider short lets, say min. 3 nights.
Please arrive after 2pm and leave by 11am on day of departure.

Conditions

A £100 (or 100 Euro) deposit is required but will be returned providing the property is left undamaged. The deposit will be returned within 7 days of your departure. Not everyone reports damage/loss and we apologise for having to ask for this in advance.

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the advertiser's discretion.

September £395 per week

A deposit of 25% secures your booking.

Final balance payment must be made 6 weeks prior to arrival and should include the £100 (100 Euros) damage deposit which is returnable.

Late bookings must be paid in full at time of booking.

Internet banking is preferred, details on request otherwise a banker's cheque.
