Saunton area
Saunton Sands leads off from the magnificent dunes of Braunton into an impressive three mile crescent of fine golden sands. The beach is a very popular surfing centre, has good rock-pooling and safe bathing, though the south end by the estuary should be avoided. There is a car park with a small shop where surf boards and wet suits can be hired, café, bar and toilets.
Saunton also offers two championship golf courses where visitors to the area are welcome. It costs from £40 a round up to £100 for the day with a £10 non-refundable deposit. Booking is advisable. Places of interest you may want to visit include:
