The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
Hidden away on the coast of West Wales, Pembrokeshire, with its lush rolling countryside and pristine white sandy beaches, is surely amongst the most beautiful areas in Britain. No other county in the UK has more Blue Flag or Seaside Award beaches and with over 50 beaches to choose from you're sure to find the perfect one for you wether you're looking for surfing and water sports or somewhere peaceful to relax and enjoy the sun and sandcastles!
There are many small islands off the coast of Pembrokeshire, the most well known being Caldey, Ramsey and Skomer. During the summer months regular boat trips are available for day trips to explore these islands which are home to thousands of puffins, gannets and other sea birds. The deep waters off Pembrokeshire are also a good place to view amazing marine animals such as whales, dolphins, seals and porpoises. In addition to this, the coast of Pembrokeshire offers unrivalled opportunities for fishing and to celebrate the vast amount of fresh fish available off the shores, the county holds a "Pembrokeshire Fish Week" which is full of family friendly activities that take place throughout the county.
Steeped in history and filled with charming villages and quaint market towns, Pembrokeshire, already a favourite location of photographers and artists, has also captured the imagination of Hollywood directors who have chosen the area as the perfect backdrop for a number of films.
With 186 miles of coastal footpaths to explore, mild winter weather and a diverse range of activities, Pembrokeshire is the ideal location for your holiday or short break at any time of the year.
With one of the most popular stretches of coastline in Pembrokeshire, Saundersfoot provides a wonderful backdrop for a holiday at any time of the year. Located just a few short miles from Tenby, nestled at the foot of a picturesque valley, and with beautiful beaches of its own it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the breathtaking surrounding scenery, or to experience activities such as deep-sea fishing and various water sports - or even horse riding through the shallow waters of the bay. Saundersfoot boasts a harbour that is central to the village which, along with fishing trips, also offers boat trips for observing the magnificent Pembrokeshire coastline and exploring the wonderful marine life.
Well known for annual festivities such as the Christmas and St David's Day Markets and other traditions including the infamous Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim, this is just one area of Pembrokeshire you'll want to visit time and time again!

"Highly recommend! Amber cottage provides a luxury stay in a beautiful location! Will definitely be going back!"
We stayed in Amber cottage for a girly weekend and we didnt want to leave. Amber cottage has everything you need whether you stay for a week or a weekend and is beautifully decorated throughout. The cottage is stunning and very luxurious. Saundersfoot beach and town centre are only 5minutes walk away. The location is beautiful. Our favourite thing though was the hot tub where we sat out in the evening with a glass of bubbly + a beautiful view. We will definitely be booking another trip in the future and would highly recommend puffin cottages! Thanks for a fantastic stay!

"5 star rating no where good enough, at least 10 star, faultless."
I am somewhat at a loss to find superlative adjectives to describe Amber Cottage and the service we received from Puffin. We have been family holidaying in Saundersfoot for some 40 years, my niece and partner who were visiting from Australia wished to visit our old holiday haunts. We tried the B&B that we always stayed out and thank goodness they could not put us up. So my wife, son, daughter/partner and niece/partner (Australian ) walked into Aladdin's cave and were totally over awed.
I do not know where to start, everything was excellent, everything to the highest specification. What a wonderful family experience sitting around that amazing breakfast bar having a full English/(Welsh) breakfast, to start the day.
And then to come back, - it was difficult to leave – to light the log burner, to dip into the hot tub with a smallish beverage or two. The plan was to eat out, we eat in every night, we did not want to waste the ambience, the feel good experience engendered from the cottage. I could go on at length but I think other reviewers describe the cottage's attributes, I just want to say how it made our few days together so extra special. Thank you and WE WILL RETURN. PS Excellent Indian & Chinese takeaways close by.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Amber Cottage! Look forward to seeing you again - please let us know when you decide to book again.

"Amazing, luxurious bungalow in the heart of Saundersfoot."
This holiday bungalow is very well designed and luxurious throughout. The pictures do not do it justice, as you just can't tell how spacious it actually is.
Our party consisted of two mums and 6 children and at no time did the bungalow feel crowded.
The huge breakfast bar with comfortable bar stools was a big hit & made meal times with 6 children so easy!
The hot tub was also fantastic, especially when the weather was so cold.
When the sun decided to shine, the lounge was lovely and warm, with sunlight pouring in through the atrium roof and the very large patio doors & windows. The views of the sea and the valley were lovely, especially at night when the lights came on.
The garden was large and sloping, with a patio and decking also large enough for the children to play on.
Although the weather was so cold, the light & airy living space felt warm & cosy when the heavy curtains and blinds were pulled. We didn't use the log burner, though it looked great.
All bedrooms were beautifully decorated and had ample storage space.
The only way this holiday cottage could have been improved is by providing towels- something to be expected from 5 stat property.
Hello, we are really glad that you enjoyed your stay at Amber Cottage. We do provide towels at this property - I'm really not sure why they were not left out for you and do apologise! We hope that you will come back and stay with us again - thank you for your review!

""WOW" 5* property designed & furnished to the highest standard"
We have been renting 5 star cottages for many years and Amber Cottage without a doubt is the find of the decade. The property is spacious, comfortable, homely and well equipped. Amber cottage was spotlessly clean and furnished to the highest standard.
The views are breathtaking -the huge bi folds doors which open out on to a large decking area where we enjoyed a few glasses of wine in the hot tub (even when it was raining) such amazing fun!
Ample Parking for 4 cars is an added bonus and also the large garden set in it's own grounds.
Saundersfoot village is only a 5 minute walk down hill which hosts many good shops, restaurants & pubs.
Thanks Vicki of Puffin Cottage holidays, we will be back!

"Five star cottage that beats all the rest!"
This cottage offered us everything we wanted for a small break from city life! Waking up to the fabulous view of the sea while sitting in a hot jacuzzi was our idea of heaven! This cottage was so idyllic we even stayed in a couple of nights to make the most of the log burner and home comforts this cottage brought. A short walk to the local bars and restaurants.
We loved this cottage so much we have booked to return in July!
