The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
Hidden away on the coast of West Wales, Pembrokeshire, with its lush rolling countryside and pristine white sandy beaches, is surely amongst the most beautiful areas in Britain. No other county in the UK has more Blue Flag or Seaside Award beaches and with over 50 beaches to choose from you're sure to find the perfect one for you wether you're looking for surfing and water sports or somewhere peaceful to relax and enjoy the sun and sandcastles!
There are many small islands off the coast of Pembrokeshire, the most well known being Caldey, Ramsey and Skomer. During the summer months regular boat trips are available for day trips to explore these islands which are home to thousands of puffins, gannets and other sea birds. The deep waters off Pembrokeshire are also a good place to view amazing marine animals such as whales, dolphins, seals and porpoises. In addition to this, the coast of Pembrokeshire offers unrivalled opportunities for fishing and to celebrate the vast amount of fresh fish available off the shores, the county holds a "Pembrokeshire Fish Week" which is full of family friendly activities that take place throughout the county.
Steeped in history and filled with charming villages and quaint market towns, Pembrokeshire, already a favourite location of photographers and artists, has also captured the imagination of Hollywood directors who have chosen the area as the perfect backdrop for a number of films.
With 186 miles of coastal footpaths to explore, mild winter weather and a diverse range of activities, Pembrokeshire is the ideal location for your holiday or short break at any time of the year.
The Saundersfoot area
With one of the most popular stretches of coastline in Pembrokeshire, Saundersfoot provides a wonderful backdrop for a holiday at any time of the year. Located just a few short miles from Tenby, nestled at the foot of a picturesque valley, and with beautiful beaches of its own it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the breathtaking surrounding scenery, or to experience activities such as deep-sea fishing and various water sports - or even horse riding through the shallow waters of the bay. Saundersfoot boasts a harbour that is central to the village which, along with fishing trips, also offers boat trips for observing the magnificent Pembrokeshire coastline and exploring the wonderful marine life.
Well known for annual festivities such as the Christmas and St David's Day Markets and other traditions including the infamous Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim, this is just one area of Pembrokeshire you'll want to visit time and time again!

We stayed at 15 Coedrath Park last July with our two children, both under 10. When we arrived, the weather was beautiful and we were more than happy with the accommodation. We have found in the past that some holiday cottages that only sleep four can be limited in space even for just four people but the open plan lounge and kitchen here was really spacious and the French doors out to the garden and patio area really opened up the whole room and was perfect for enjoying a BBQ or just watching the kids play in the huge garden area. The apartment was really clean and modern and had everything we needed and more (washer/dryer, dishwasher etc plus an ample supply of kitchen utensils etc). The location was really quiet and we were only a 5 minute walk from the beach and village where there were lots of nice pubs, cafes and restaurants (we recommend The Oak, The Mulberry and The Kookaba especially). The kids loved being able to walk to the beach and back everyday and when we got back and wanted to relax they enjoyed being able to play outside. We plan on booking to return next year and would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone! |
