BookThe West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
Pembrokeshire has a host of attractions for the visitor, starting with the many historical sites to theme parks, places of outstanding natural beauty and some of the best beaches in Britain. Visit www.visitpembrokeshire.com for more information.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, one of Britain's breathing spaces, takes in about a third of the county including the entire coastal strip, the upper reaches of the Daugleddau (two swords) and the Preselis. It's the only National Park that is almost entirely coastal. The National Park run an extensive programme of activities and events for both adults and children: rock pool safaris, crab catching, bat walks and even time travel! They're all listed in the Coast to Coast newspaper: pick one up when you get here.
The National Trust owns and protects many of the most important sections of the coast especially around Barafundle beach, Marloes, St Davids, Porthgain & Dinas. The trust also runs the superb Colby Woodland Gardens at Amroth and the Tudor Merchant's House near the harbour in Tenby.
No other county in Britain has more blue flag beaches or Seaside Award Beaches than Pembrokeshire. With over 50 beaches to choose from there will be one that's perfect for you, whether you want to surf, kayak or kite surf or just relax, sunbathe and build sandcastles, there's something for everyone.
The Saundersfoot area
Saundersfoot provides easy access to the spectacular coastline of Pembrokeshire. The renowned Pembrokshire coastal path passes through the village making Saundersfoot an excellent walking holiday base. There are large sandy beaches and a harbour in the village so it is easy to relax or enjoy watersports or fishing. Boat trips are run from the harbour for fishing and viewing the marine wildlife and coastline. Saundersfoot is also superbly located for access to Tenby and St. Davids for day trips.
Saundersfoot has an increasing reputation as a gourmet resort, thanks to the high quality restaurants and cafes and the local Pembrokeshire produce.
There are several pubs and clubs located in the centre of Saundersfoot such as 'The Captains Table', 'The Royal Oak', 'The Mulberry', 'The Hean', 'Mermaid On The Strand' and 'The Deck'.
Saundersfoot is also renowned locally for a charitable New Years Day Swim sponsored by local businesses.
Local attractions include Heatherton Adventure Park, Tenby Dinosaur Park, Oakwood and Folly Farm.

This was our third stay at Bay View and every time gets better! Eli and Ian ensure the highest standards at all times down to every last detail. This is a beautiful home with views to die for. We've already booked for next New Year, as Saundersfoot is a lovely place to celebrate. If you fancy a good meal, the owner's pub, the Royal Oak serves lovely pub food, but booking is advisable. I cannot praise Bay View enough. The location is also so convenient. A real gem. Response: Guests returning frequently is the greatest compliment we can be paid. It makes all the hard work worthwhile when what you do is appreciated. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Ian & Eli |
