Situated on the edge of the beautiful St Léger de Montbrillais village, this glorious retreat enjoys the ideal setting to experience the splendour of the Loire region. The sumptuous luxury of La Colline is especially suited to those who enjoy French culture.

La Colline is a newly furnished self-catering luxury gite within a minute's walk of local commerce, including an excellent butcher, a hair dresser, post office and bakery, (which also stocks the essentials), and 10 minutes drive from major commerce.

Conditions

Key Rental Terms and Conditions

Bookings can be made via email or telephone and a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking which can be paid by Sterling or Euro cheque or bank electronic transfer.

Booking commences at 4.00pm on the arrival date and check out time is 10.00am on the departure date with the changeover day being a Saturday. (May be negotiated)

The property is fully furnished with kitchen facilities and the rental price includes the use of linen, pillows, duvets and bath towels. Guests are responsible for all damages to the premises or, loss of or damage to any items in the premises. A security deposit of £100 will be charged & held to cover the replacement or repair cost (at the discretion of the letting agent) of any items damaged or lost. Further recompense will be sought should damage exceed the deposit amount.

Guests are not allowed to bring animals or pets on to the premises.

We operate a Strict 'No Smoking' policy. Breaches of the policy may result in loss of the security deposit.

Cancellation Policy

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is non refundable.

Full payment (75% balance) is due 60 days before the start date. Please ensure payments are made within the specified time limits or the booking may be cancelled with loss of deposit paid.

Should the booking have to be cancelled after full payment has been received, every effort will be made to secure an alternative booking. In this instance a 75% refund will be made.

A full rental agreement will be issued at time of enquiry.

An award winning wine and a sunset - Bliss!

The Loire Valley / Maine-et-Loire region

This area is renowned for its many attractions, including troglodyte caves, fine wines (Saumur, Saumur Champigny, Chinon & Bourgueil), and fabulous historical buildings, (such as Fontevraud Abbey, where Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine lie in state), as well as its breathtaking châteaux Saumur, Montsoreau, Chinon, Angers, Breze, Villandry and many more, all of which are within a short drive of the cottage.

Saumur, (the home of the National Riding School and the French Cavalry, Cadre Noir), is only a short drive away and spans the Loire with its two spectacular bridges and offers river views, a magnificent château and a wide variety of shops including a fabulous butcher and cheese shop plenty of restaurants, theatres, bars and historic buildings, and a superb market on Saturdays.

Other "Must See" attractions

If you enjoy walking in beautiful gardens, visit Villandry or the expansive gardens of Parc Maupassant De Bois Savary in Allonnes.

A special family day out ? There is a fabulous Zoo at Doué La Fontaine, a short drive away.

For motor racing fans the famous Le Mans race track is less than a 2 hour drive!

The Loire region, also called the "Garden of France", provides 75% of the mushrooms eaten in Paris and local seasonal fruit & vegetables that have to be tasted to be believed!

La Colline is situated within a one-hour drive from: Angers, Bressuire, Thouars, Loudon, Chinon, Tours, Richelieu and within 2 hours of Le Mans & Nantes.

The Saumur / St Leger de Montbrillais area

Take to the outdoors and make the most of numerous walking and cycle paths, equestrian schools and riding trails. At least six first-class golf courses nearby will satisfy the most keen of golfers.
Enjoy boating, swimming and angling in one of Saumur's beautiful lakes, or take a deep breath, take to the skies and go ballooning!

Within a minutes walk from local commerce, Boucherie, Patisserie, Bar, Tabac, and Poste, the cottage is only 10 minutes drive from the Châteaux of Breze & Montreuil-Bellay & 20 minutes from the home of the famous Cadre Noir in Saumur, an ancient, picturesque town straddling the Loire, with its many bars and restaurants. Saumur market on a Saturday is a sensory feast, offering a vast array of fine local produce.

Set amongst vineyards and a short drive from the famous Loire Valley, (and only 25 mins from the fabulous Zoo at Doue La Fontaine), La Colline provides access to a wonderful mixture of culture, viniculture & old world charm in a beautiful village & rural setting.

Being on the border of the Vienne and The Loire Region, (the "Garden of France"), this property offers a diversity of local cuisine, wine tasting and fabulous scenery which is sure to please every visitor.

Wine tasting is a must! Visit local producers to try before you buy. The closest are in St Léger, Berrie, Saix, Pouncay, Ternay. Wine tasting events can be organised on request.

There is dining for all tastes and pockets from 5 star dining at The Prieure in Chênehutte (30 minute drive,direction Saumur/ Gennes) to local auberges where a 3 course meal costs as little as Euro11.55 & that includes your wine! Try 4 * Star dining locally! The 'Tresor Belge', offers Gastronomique cuisine (5 minute drive, direction Pouncay or a 30 minute walk!)
