We have a stunning apartment available to rent on a weekly or nightly basis. Relax in your very own 17th century Salon, sleep in the Cave Boudoir and enjoy the intimate private courtyard where you can sit and enjoy the warm evenings and exceptional local wines. Cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, bakers and supermarkets are all within walking distance.

The Loire Valley / Maine-et-Loire region

Maine et Loire is a principal department in the Loire Valley and large parts of it are a UNESCO world heritage site. The capital is the historic town of ANGERS where the Maine river meets the Loire river and attracts large numbers of unusual migrating birds. Maine et Loire is situated in a Micro climate which delivers beautiful spring, summer and autumns and has an average rainfall less than that of Nice.

The Saumur area

Saumur has it all, great history, chateaux, winding streets with interesting shops, cafes and restaurants are all available within walking distance. The town is home to the French Cavelry and you can see them training and exercising their horses daily, There is also the Cadre Noir which practises the traditional art of horse riding, daily tours are available and many spectacular shows and competitions throughout the year. Saumur is also famous for it's sparkling wine and many of the wine houses provide free wine tours and tastings.
Boat trips and Kyaking are available on the river.

Market Day is Saturday, you can sample local specialities and there is a great farmer's market selling, vegetables, cheeses, meats, fish, honey and wines.
The town has 2 excellent swimming centres and there are 2 bikes at the apartment for you to use and explore a bit further without getting the car out!!

“Great location, shame about the cave bedroom” We have mixed feelings about this apartment. On the one hand, the apartment is fabulous - brilliant location, wonderful lounge, great bathroom and nice little kitchen. It is well decorated and furnished and you can imagine yourself as some sort of French aristocracy. However, these positives are somewhat marred by the very damp cave bedroom - there were two dehumidifiers on, only partially successful in getting rid of the dampness and musty smell. This slight dampness meant that the mattress was covered in an awful plastic sheet, which we found really horrible to sleep on. This is a shame as the bed and bedding were really very comfortable. The patio was also a bit grim - dark and full of pigeons.. If you don't mind unromantic plastic sheets and don't plan to use the patio much, I would recommend this apartment as the rest of it is really very nice.

“Welcoming retreat in Saumur” Lorraine and Lorraine met us at the apartment and showed us around; they were very nice and helpful. The apartment is wonderful, superbly located, easy to get in and out, safe and very quiet. We liked the private outdoor area and used it several times. The bathroom was very nice. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed. All in all, very nice.
