The semi-circular kitchen is fully fitted with all mod cons including a double oven and 8 burner hob. We have also retained the original wine press and stone flagged floor .where the footprints of former wine makers, of these superb Loire Valley wines, can still be seen.
The spacious lounge is extremely comfortable and attractively furnished, in addition having UK satellite t.v. video, dvd and hifi equipment. There are also books and games for all ages.
Beautifully decorated dining area has French doors. The fully fitted kitchen with original wine press, is fitted with everything you need including an 8 burner 2 oven fabulous cooker. Gorgeous area, we loved the Bio Parc (ZOO) in Doue if you do anything do this. We usually hate zoos but this is truly different! Thoroughly enjoyed wine tasting with Jon and Sue and then the consumption of yummy local wines. Saumur Château was good for us all, as was the Troglodyte village in Rochemenier. Pool and gardens fab, very lucky with the weather. All in All a wonderful break. We will be back!

Thank you for making us feel so welcome at Les Fleurs, we had a lovely holiday. The cottage was exactly what we needed – plenty of downstairs space, fully equipped with high chairs, plastic baby bowls, cutlery etc and age appropriate toys. Having the gates at the end of the drive and the lovely gardens with swings and trikes meant we could let even the younger boys play out on their own without worrying. There was plenty to do, the Zoo at Doue la Fontaine is beautifully done, we went to L'Etang family park, the Tank museum in Saumur and various Chateaux with gardens to run around in.
Ella, Ross and the Boys from the UK April 2012

Enquire nowThe Loire Valley / Maine-et-Loire region
Known as the Garden of France this area is glorious.
It is also noteworthy for the quality of its architectural heritage, in its historic towns such as Amboise, Angers, Blois, Chinon, Nantes, Orléans, Saumur, and Tours, but in particular for its world-famous châteaux, such as Amboise, Chambord, Villandry and Chenonceau and more particularly its many cultural monuments, which illustrate to an exceptional degree the ideals of the Renaissance.
On December 2, 2000, UNESCO added the central part of the Loire River valley, between Maine and Sully-sur-Loire, to its list of World Heritage Sites
Warm summers and balmy evenings are an apt description of the weather in the Loire. Mild spring weather brings out the buds on the trees and spring flowering bulbs much earlier than in the UK. Autumn is glorious with evenings often still warm enough to BBQ.
The Saumur / Les Verchers Sur Layon area
There are numerous attractions in the area, apart from the many Chateaux, the zoo at Doue la Fontaine, just 4 minutes away, is world famous for its conservation policy.
The world renowned Cadre Noir is based in Samur and apart from its frequent shows, there are weekly demonstrations that are open to the public For the more adventurous Puy du Fou, Futurscope and several adventure parks are all within easy driving distance.
The rose garden in Doue la Fontaine has hundreds of astounding roses on display and makes for a wonderful day out wandering around the rose gardens enjoying the scents and visions of these fabulous roses
Local villages hold events throughout the year and frequent wine festivals and open days at vinter make this an ideal area to visit.
Golf, horse riding, tennis, water sports, go karting, bird watching, cycling and walking are all easily available.
