Villa Monte Campu is located on the outskirts of the small village of Codrongianos, 15km from the provincial capital of northern Sardinia, Sassari. Codrongianos is ideally situated for touring Sardinia. Just 30 minutes from Alghero, Fertilia Airport and 1 hour from Olbia, Costa Smeralda at the principle junction of the two main trunk roads that traverse the island. The villa rests in the peace and quiet of the countryside in a fertile valley surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The quiet village (population 1200) includes all necessary amenities with 3 small supermarkets selling local and international produce, post office, tobacconist, 2 restaurants, pizzeria and a couple of bars.

A little further afield yet still less than 2 hrs drive are some of Sardinias best kept secrets. The Ogliastra region on the central eastern coast includes some of the most spectacular beaches in Sardinia and consequently the entire Mediterranean.

The accommodation is on the lower floor of a family villa. There is a large living/dining area with separate kitchen and breakfast bar.
An open fireplace and cast-iron stove for winter evenings. Leather three-piece suite, 36" colour telivision set with Sky satellite tv. Wireless, high-speed, free internet access. The bedroom includes a doible bed, sofa, wardrobe. Extra beds can be added to the lounge area for more guests. Bathroom including shower.

The Sardinia region

Codrongianos is located 25 mins from the provincial capital of Northwestern Sardinia, Sassari. The Villa is set in the hills to the south of the city. The climate is mediterranean with hot summers and mild winters. The villas slightly higher altitude offers some respite from the very hot mid-summer days with a gentle cooling breeze.

Sardinia’s capital and largest city, Cagliari is easily accessible from Codrongianos and takes approximately 2.5hrs. The second largest city in Sardinia is just 10 minutes drive and includes hypermarkets and active nightlife. 30-40 minutes to the west is the fastest developing tourist resort in Sardinia, the port town of Alghero. To the East lies the port of Olbia and the famous Emerald Coast. The villages of Porto Cervo, Polto Qualto, Porto Rotondo can all be found within this unique development on the north east corner of Sardinia.

Sassari / Codrongianos area

Codrongianos is a typical hillside village of central Sardinia. The village is the setting for one of Sardinia's most famous landmarks, the Basilica di Saccargia. Local attractions include the many folk festivals throughout the summer both in Codrongianos and the surrounding towns and villages. Most importantly, Codrongianos is ideally located to tour the Island.

Situated close to the junction of the main SS131 road between Alghero, Porto Torres and Sassari and the south of the Island including Cagliari and the Costa Azzura. To the east the road leads to Olbia and the Emerald Coast. The excellent road network and the central location of Codrongianos allows visitors the freedom to choose their itiniraries and avoid the most overcrowded loactions. Alghero Airport is just 30 mins, Olbia Airport 50 mins.

Porto Torres (Ferries) 20 minutes. Olbia Port (Ferries) 55mins.

Ryanair, Easyjet, Airone, FlyBE, all fly to these airports. Car Hire available at all airports/ports.

Although only one bedroom, the very large open plan lounge can accommodate up to 3 'Z' beds (provided) for your children, additional guests. The completely self contained apartment stays comfortably cool during the summer months and for out of season clients there is a charming wood burning stove in the lounge area.

With gated entry for your security and privacy, the very private gardens are spacious with oleander, bougainvillea, olives and various fruiting trees. The southerly facing views are simpy breathtaking, hills, valleys, vineyards and olive groves. Listen to the cowbells on the distant hillside while relaxing round the large illuminated 12m x 6m pool, diving board, even roman steps for that romantic night time swim. There are two large gazebos, one is poolside, with table and chairs for dining 'al fresco'. There is a well lit traditional brick built barbeque, nothing quite like the smell of olive wood and rosemary to tantalise the taste buds.

Further details

The lower level of our family villa is completely self contained. The floor above is home to the owners who may or may not be in residence. The property is fully serviced and the gardens and pool are maintained throughout your stay. Assistance with flights, airport transfers, car rental, local information, shopping, medical aid or any other can be given by our on-site personnel.
