About the home

This lovely apartment in Valdorcia is a two storeyed apartment. The general atmosphere of the apartment is of a warm place to relax and feel at home.

The wooden beams and decor provide warmth to it. In the downstairs there is a kitchen, a little sitting room and a bathroom fitted in very modern style. The stairs lead to the bedroom from where the views are fabulous.

The double bedroom is furnished with antiques in a simple style. It affords a relaxing large bathtub in it.

This apartment in Valdorcia is provided with TV with satellite channels and independent heating.

The Sarteano area

This little town dating back to the Middle Ages sits in the countryside. A paradise for walker, who can venture a bit further to Monte Cetona (1145m above sea level).
Sarteano features a castle that soars over town and was much mentioned in newspapers in 2003.
Archaeologists then discovered in the necropolis of Pianacce a fresco in perfect conditions of conservation although it dated to the 4th century BC. It was located on a perfect vantage point which overlooks the Val di Chiana. The fresco on the walls that for centuries kept the sarcophagus depict a demon on a chariot that a lion and two griffins draw. There is also a snake with three heads, an enormous seahorse, a young man and who looks like his father showing their fond feelings.
For visits you can book your tickets for Saturdays only at the Archaeological Civic Museum in Sarteano.
The Archaeological Civic Museum (tel. 0578 26 92 61) is at Via Roma 24 within a stone's throw from the tourist information office. It is housed in the Palazzo Gabrielli and exhibits finds found locally embracing the Bronze Age and the late Roman period.
