Located within the walled town of Sarnano. Wonderful light, Private, Within 5 minute walk to Restaurants, stores, amenities. The apartment has been lovingly restored and combines historical architecture with contemporary interior.

Situated on a hill to the right of the Tennacola, Sarnano is one of the few towns in the Marche whose historic centre remains untouched. The town planning is characteristic of the “castrum” – a walled city with small winding streets that lead up to the piazza alta and then descend in concentric circles to the base of the hill. The town with its spiraling streets has preserved the characteristics of the fortified castle with original parts of the walls and gates.

Going up the winding, narrow and protective streets, from the foot of the hill to the silent and beautiful Piazza Alta, you can sense the atmosphere of central Italy in the idyllic Le Marche. Still protected by the ancient walls, the village presents itself as a harmonious urban centre dating back to a period, during the second half of the thirteenth century, when Italy was made up of city-states.

The Marche/Abruzzo region

Travellers who want the best of central Italy are now heading for Le Marche, the third region, alongside Tuscany and Umbria, that makes up central Italy. It is pronounced "lay markay", is plural (Le Marche) and is sometimes translated into English as "The Marches".

The region lies on the eastern side of central Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and the high Apennine mountains and much of it remains unspoilt by the ravages of mass tourism.

True, the Adriatic coast has been a mecca for "sun n' sand" holiday makers for decades; but few venture far from the beaches. Inland, perhaps more so than anywhere else in central Italy, you will find places where time really has stood still. Compared to its central Italian sisters, here culture comes in more easily digestible proportions but quality, as at Urbino, is often of the very best.

he bustling spa town of Sarnano is 1 kilometre away from the Sibillini Mountains National Park and one of only 115 towns in the whole of Italy to have been awarded the Orange Riband or "Bandiera Arancione" by the Touring Club of Italy as a place of Special Tourist Quality and Interest. Sarnano has a wealth of character, wonderful architecture, a terme, ski resort, restaurants, bars and a helpful tourist office. There are 10 signposted walks from Sarnano and also many trekking trails
