Casa Giuseppe
About the home
Casa Giuseppe is a beautiful 19th century farmhouse, rebuilt to make the perfect holiday villa. Secluded on a gentle hillside with panoramic views of the Sibillini Mountains and the rolling valleys, yet only 8 minutes by car to the fabulous medieval spa town of Sarnano and about 45 minutes from the Adriatic coast. The property is a generous 300 msq in total, with seating for 10 people in both the living and dining areas; the two en suites and the two twin rooms are on the upper floor, with lovely views over the valleys.
Eat in the huge kitchen, equipped for the most demanding cook, or on the connecting terrace for alfresco lunches and enchanting sunset suppers. Relax in the magical sitting room with its leather sofas and open fire, take breakfast on the adjoining terrace, and if you're early enough watch the sun rise over hilltop villages.

Further details indoors:
The fifth bedroom is on the ground floor, next to the ground floor bathroom. It has become a favourite with many guests as it offers snug quarters, adjacent large bathroom and views over the valley to the village of Gualdo. All rooms have bedside tables and lamps for each person, plus wardrobe space (see photos). All bedrooms have double-glazed windows, shutters and integral fly screens. A baby cot is provided. The owners visit the house regularly and inevitably leave their characters on the decor and accessories. You will find books, paintings and decorative pieces everywhere (Outside distractions include table tennis). The roof has been constructed with special insulation, making the house cooler in summer, and warmer in winter. Additionally, most of the bedrooms have two windows, allowing for continuous fresh air flow in hot weather.
Satellite or cable TV is also available.
Further details outdoors:
Tread the stone path to your 12 metre private pool, newly built and surrounded by a wonderful terracotta terrace. Take time to settle in and enjoy walks from the house to the local hamlets and be sure to make an early visit to Sarnano, which offers centuries old charm and modern facilities in equal measure. Local restaurants are superb. Two bicycles and ten garden chairs are provided for guests.
Further details
The property is wheelchair inaccessible, although children are welcome and pets considered.

The Marche / Abruzzo / Marche region

Marche, or more correctly 'Le Marche' (literally 'The Marches') is a region of Italy little changed over the last fifty years. Blessed with a spectacular landscape, the agricultural life of the native Italians is the bedrock of Le Marche culture. Wild boar still abound and feature on every restaurant menu. Town and village market days are opportunities to buy from the widest ranges of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry and game, as well as irresistible fresh breads, salami and ham.
The Sarnano area
Casa Giuseppe is 8 minutes by car from Sarnano, a hilltop town nestled in the foothills of the Sibillini Mountains, which in summer hosts street festivals, opera and antiques fairs. Thursday's street market offers every indulgence to the hardened shopping professional. For amateurs, why not pick up a selection of hot fried fish from one of the vendors and adjourn to the theatre bar for a glass of cold beer.
In terms of more active pursuits, the area is great for walking and mountaineering, as well as cycling and mountain biking. Sailing is also an option.
