Two bedroom 2 showers, Iris is equipped for 4 persons comfortably ,log burning stove,TV 32" HD SKY DVD, internet access, the double ground floor bedroom with french windows, has wonderful views over the village. Parking to the rear of the gite, allows easy unloading. French windows from both the lounge and downstairs bedroom open onto a private terrace with swing seat, BBQ, 2 sun loungers,table chairs overlooking the medieval village of Carlux. Night time the village the medieval castle is illuminated.
The outside dining area is terraced and equipped with outdoor furniture, BBQ ,underneath shaded overhang. The site has large heated swimming pool, (OPEN MID MAY CLOSED END SEPTEMBER)two play areas for differing ages of children, a badminton court, table tennis& undercover table football area. The gite is within walking distance of shops restaurants cafes & bars,post office -wonderful!

Iris has 2 bedrooms. The upstairs bedroom with twin beds is accessed via stairs from the lounge and has its own shower toilet. The ground floor bedroom with double bed has French windows to outside. The bathroom is located on the ground floor with a separate toilet.
The lounge /kitchen /dining area has seating for 4, kitchen is small but well equipped. Microwave,4 hob burner,fridge..The lounge area has 2 sofas' small table,TV english only,Sky, DVD, Pod Docking. With French windows onto the spacious terrace.The terrace has table chairs, parasol , 2 sunloungers and BBQ.

The complex of 12 privately owned gites, offers a well maintained pool area with comfortable sun loungers, parasols, kids pool, shower,small shop for essentials. There are 2 play areas for the children depending on age.On site there is table tennis, badminton.(POOL IS ONLY HEATED mid may,june july& august september) depending on the weather, the pool is then wintered and closed.
Further details
We ask for 20%deposit on reserving the gite. The balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival.
Linen, towels inc.pool towels, gas are all inclusive. Electricity is charged for (meter reading) payable in euros on departure. Logs for wood burner supplied at extra charge if required.

The Dordogne offers many famous places to visit,many in short distance by car from Carlux.
The village is of interest, with its perched medieval castle.You have the best view from your terrace!
The climate of the Aquitaine can offer excellent summer weather, with early spring and long autumn.
The Sarlat / Carlux area
The river Dordogne is 2km away ,also at 2km the old railway line offers safe easy cycling. On the route to Sarlat you will find an tree top adventure park for all ages.real fun for an active family.
The Gite ,is situated at 15mins drive from the amazing medieval town of SARLAT & is perfect for relaxing & sightseeing. Wander the Bastide of Domme. Take a boat or canoe on the Dordogne river (with a picnic). Step back in time & visit the medieval villages of Beynac & Roque Gageac, the chateaux of Castelnaud, Fenelon and many more,step even further back to pre historia & see Les Eyzies & Lascaux 2 the amazing cave dwellings & paintings .For the energetic: as well as canoes there is cycling,horse riding out door adventure parks, even Ballooning!! For shopping there is Sarlat with its cobbled streets on Saturdays a fantastic market,with restaurants galore,local wine and Cheeses, Foie Gras & walnuts,with all this you may need a walk & there is plenty of walking routes. Visit Rocamadour the trail of the pilgrims,with animal parks,caves,& beautiful views!
