Vintage Airstream Caravans in Périgord (SARLAT in South west - France - Europe)

If you are looking for a unique romantic getaway - this place is it.

A unique vacation location for someone who has always longed to travel in a silver bullet but never has, and who, finally, wants to romance life on wheels.

To make your camping experience nostalgic and unforgettable, these 3 pristine stationary 1950's Airstream trailers and European caravans, have been lovingly restored, to be comfortable, cozy and fully equipped. They are anchored in to a nice completely private property, with a large swimming pool (15x7 meters), in the heart of the "Périgord noir", close to Sarlat, Domme, Castelnaud and Beynac and just near the Valley of Dordogne, with its many castles and beaches.

The 3 renovated Vintage trailers offer each one a beautiful and cozy retreat for 2 guests ( As there are 3 caravans, the full capacity is 6 guests, with 2 Guests in each caravan), with remodeled, original features and upgraded kitchen, bathroom and amenities. The caravans can be rented separately or all together. Besides standard equipment (electricity, gas stove, oven, refrigerator, running water, septic tank, shower), the trailers are completely equipped with high quality bedding, towels and cookery. They are warm, dry and they have working stoves, heaters, and lights. A bath house, near the swiming pool, provides a shower and toilet, in the case of your trailer does not provide it on board. You can relax in the incredible natural beauty and quietude of your outdoor private living space, or enjoy many activities offered around (canoeing, climbing, horse riding, ballooning, hiking...). You'll find that this region of South France, is absolutely teeming with fun activities for all kinds of people.

The Aquitaine/Dordogne region

Home first to prehistoric man and later to the Gauls, Romans and Franks, each of whom left the stamp of their respective civilisations, Périgord is divided into two by the river Dordogne, which formed the historic frontier between France and England during the Hundred Years War and which gave its name to the Département of the Dordogne after the French Revolution. Along its banks are a thousand and one castles steeped in legend, witness to centuries of conquests and the intermixing of cultures. Today Périgord's rich and varied heritage has been faithfully preserved and is here for you to discover. Come and find a past that is still lives on in present-day Périgord, whether in its landscape fashioned by history, in its renowned culinary tradition or in the many cultural and sporting activities that will help make your visit unforgettable.

In spring, when the air is filled with the scent of fruit trees in full blossom, take a walk in the countryside and marvel at the innumerable species of orchids and other wild flowers that grow here. Summer is never too hot to enjoy a bathe in one of Périgord's lakes or ponds, or to go canoeing down shaded streams, or discover a bit of history in the refreshing cool of the region's many caves or castles!

In winter the buildings that make up Périgord's architectural heritage come out from behind their leafy hiding places: with the greatest number of historic sites in France outside Paris, the Dordogne is a tourist's paradise. And as Christmas gets closer, the local countryfolk are to be seen on the markets selling the fresh truffles, cèpes and foies gras so prized by epicures from all over the world.

Sarlat

Sarlat is one of the most attractive and alluring towns in southwestern France.

Sarlat is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin. Because modern history has largely passed it by, Sarlat has remained preserved and one of the towns most representative of 14th century France. It owes its current status on France's Tentative List for future nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage site to the enthusiasm of writer, resistance fighter and politician André Malraux, who, as Minister of Culture (1960–1969), restored the town and many other sites of historic significance throughout France. The centre of the old town consists of impeccably restored stone buildings and is largely car-free.

"Glamping at it's very best!!!"

If you want to relax and get away from it all in a unique and superb location in fun accommodation then this is the place for you! You can even see Bambi! The caravan is very comfortable and facilities are all excellent. The pool was gorgeous and a really good size. The owner Olivier is very helpful and always has a smile on his face and he has super knowledge of the local area and landscape and if you want good views and excellent food follow his recommendations. It has been a perfect week in a magical place!
