The Dordogne region

The Dordogne is rich in history with countless magnificent chateaux, archealogical sites, and ancient cave dwellings.

Naturally beautiful, there are weeks of enjoyment to be found in exploring the area - the old villages and small towns, the vineyards, forests and the rivers.

Sarlat is justifiably one of the most visited towns in Europe. It is at the very heart of this fabulous region of France and the perfect location to explore its amazing chateauxs, prehistoric caves and art, sculptured gardens and beautiful villages. Visit the local markets, watch the street performers or step back in history as you roam the gas lit streets of the amazing medieval city.

Nearby are the spectacular castles of Beynac, Castelnaud and Puy Martin; the cave dwellings in Les Eyzies and Roque Gageac; and the world famous Lascaux Caves.

The majestic Dordogne river runs through the area and provides locals and visitors alike with beaches, canoeing and other water sports. From golf courses and hot air ballooning to historic monuments and museums - the list is endless.
