La Belle Etoile is a stunning studio style apartment able to accommodate three with a king size bed and a large sofa daybed in the lounge area. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, 4 x electric hotplate, refrigerator. There is also a dining table and seating for 4 people. The lounge area has a 2 seater and a 3 seater couch, TV, DVD Player and WiF.

If there is one place in the Dordogne that captures the very essence of the region it has to be Sarlat. Capital of the Perigord Noir with a tangible history dating back to Gallo Roman times, this perfectly preserved medieval town weaves its magic spell over all those who wander its cobbled streets and marvel at its timeless charms.
Sarlat is a great base for motorists. Experience the nearby riverside village of Beynac with its marvelous castle, or the picturesque bastide town of Domme. Also close by is the spectacular cliff-side village of Rocamadour. An hours drive brings you to the wine growing region of Bergerac where you can visit the vineyards and sample the locally produced wines such as Pecharmant.
The Sarlat area
Sarlat, the capital of the Perigord Noir is a remarkabley conserved Middle Age City which enjoys average summertime temperatures of 30 degrees celsius. A town of merchants, clerks and men of the cloth, Sarlat developed due to its commerce and its fairs which still exist today.
Far from the great economic crossroads, the city fell into slumber after the Revolution and its old quarters were reserved intact. With the Malraux law of the 4th of August 1962, the restoration of the old section of the city, which had become derelect, was undertaken and new life was given to the brown buildings. Today the streets and houses are full of beauty, charm and history. On Saturdays, a market is held in Place de la Liberte which takes on a lively and colourful appearance. Market stalls and stands cover the entire square and local produce (ducks, geese, truffles and cepe mushrooms accrding to season) are being sold. Regional produce such as foie gras, truffles and wild mushrooms are the most refined ambassadors of Sarlat. At the end of July, Sarlat organises a sumptious festival of religious music, and in early August there is a drama festival. it is not unusual to find yourself surrounded by a troupe of musicians, jugglers or street entertainers at the corner of a square or in the street.
Troubadours can be heard declaiming tender poetry for the love a beautiful woman.Squires and pages in ceremonial dress dance a wild saraband beneath the sparkling eyes of the town's Consuls. Festive districts glint in the torchlight, on a warm summer's night. Lose yourself , if only for a short time, in the beauty, charm and excitement of Sarlat.
