The Aquitaine/Dordogne region

The property is located in the Dordogne department in the Périgord Region, South West of France. Many tourist features embellish the area such as Lascaux (Prehistoric Cave), the Dordogne Valley adorned with medieval castles (World Heritage), prestigious vineyards offering wine tasting and visiting opportunities (Bergerac and, Monbazillac). In addition to the East is the Quercy area which offers beautiful sceneries of dry and open landscape and medieval towns such as Rocamadour and Cahors home of the famous wine. To the South lies "Bastides country" which features medieval fortified towns built by the English during their conquest of South Western France. Finally to the West of the region we find the beginning of the prestigious Bordeaux country starting with Saint Emilion all the way to the city of Bordeaux.

Perigord offers a wide range of leisure activities such as beautiful hiking trails, horse riding, canoeing/kayaking, cycling, and ballooning, as well as classical music and theatre festivals, local/traditional bands, local product day and night markets and prestigious national museums (such as the national prehistoric museum in Les Eyzies). Most villages celebrate their Patron's day offering colourful festive activities and gastronomical tastings. The multitude of prehistoric sites found in the area also provide an opportunity for cultural visits and theme related conferences. The Dordogne Valley (Wordl Heritage) includes a variety of stunning features such as troglodytic towns, panoramic views and quaint rural villages all of which are eco-tourist orientated.

The mild climate of the area allows for plenty of outdoor sports , picnics, barbecues and family outings. The Perigord area is an ideal holiday destination for families and experienced travellers searching for harmonious, and nature based tourism.
