You could throw a golf ball into the gulf from this beachfront condo! Located on Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida, this vacation home has the best of both worlds - the beach in front and the intercoastal and boat docks in back. The area makes for quiet and peaceful surroundings, an atmosphere we hope you will help preserve. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well cared for and a lovely pool is available for your use. The living room has very comfortable leather furniture, the master bedroom has a newly installed double French Door, new luxurious bedding in both bedrooms, a newly installed ceramic lanai with a table/chairs for drinks to watch the sunset by and a very comfortable couch for watching dolphins swim by in the Ocean!
Facing west for the famous sunsets over the Gulf and behind the unit is a lagoon busy with canoes, kayaks, and wildlife. The world famous Crescent Beach is a 5 minute drive up the key. The condo is spacious and offers fantastic views of the Gulf from the living room, kitchen, master bedroom and lanai. The kitchen is equipped for people who like to cook. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, 4 burner stove, and all cooking utensils, silverware and dishes you will need for those nights when you decide to cook, though with all the great restaurants nearby, that may not be often. As an added bonus you can stand at the kitchen sink and watch the sunsets through the living room window.
The unit is on the second floor and has a master bedroom with a king size bed and a second bedroom with two twin size beds and its own full bath. There are also two cots that can be pulled out when needed. There are two bathrooms. Cable TV, VCR and CD/Stereo. We've even supplied a few movies and CDs. A new washer and dryer (2004) are just steps away. Great restaurants and golf nearby. Its not unusual to be able to watch dolphins swim by in the gulf from the lanai/patio. The condo is on the southern end of Siesta Key and is very quiet and uncrowded. Spectacular view of the gulf

Siesta Key is an island paradise off the west coast of Sarasota Florida. The condo is located on the south end of the key of the island. Our condo is the last condo on the key in a very quiet and private area of the beach. There are only a few homes adjacent to us and they are multimillion dollar private beachfront homes. Luscious tropical vegetation is found all over the island and at the condo.
The climate is tropical and is warm year around. Enjoy swimming in the ocean or heated pool.
The Sarasota / Siesta Key area
Just a short walk takes you to Siesta Village. The stores there will meet all your vacation needs: swim wear, sandals and gifts, food and beverages. We have a wide range of restaurants to choose from on Siesta Key.
The condo is located in a very safe and quiet area on the key. We are 5min away from the village that has a vibrant nightlife with nightly live music and several open-air establishments so you can enjoy the beautiful weather. There are no traffic lights in Siesta Village and it is very pedestrian friendly.
There are numerous activities within 5-15min away (Mote Acquarium, Golf, Tennis, Biking, Boating, Wildlife Parks, Parasailing, Kayaking, Gator Parks, and fabulous restaurants from $ to $$$$).
We are also 1 hours drive to Tampa, FL which has many attractions including the Salvador Dali Museum, professional baseball and football, Busch Gardens Theme Park, and many more.
Orlando (Disney) is a 1.5 hours drive

Most airlines fly to the USA. The most likely transfer points will be New York or Atlanta when coming to Florida. It may be possible to get direct flights to Tampa or Orlando as these are large international airports.
The best way to reach our property is to fly to either Tampa, FL, Orlando, FL, Sarasota, FL or Fort Myers, FL.
You can then either rent a car or take a taxi. I believe most will want to rent a car. The reputable US companies all have locations at the airport - These are the reputable companies to rent from (Hertz, Avis, National, Budget, Dollar,Alamo, Payless, National, Enterprise, Thrifty).
If you want to take a taxi, the price from the Sarasota, FL airport is $30 including the $5 tip. The price from Tampa will be close to $100 - $120 US dollars with tip. From Fort Myers, FL it will be $120 - $180 US Dollars. The taxi services are all reputable at the airport.
We will supply you with instructions and map so you can get to our property without any difficulties. This is a favourite spot for Europeans and their families.

I stayed in the 2 bdrm condo at turtle beach for 1 week in April 2012. The location is excellent for families regardless of ages. We all felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kevin and Elaine kept us well informed and were excellent to deal with. We arrived late but our access went like clockwork and the keys were in the lock box as arranged. The on site staff made the stay very pleasant and would readily help out with giving local information to amenities and facilities available. The waterfront setting is ideal for those who like to sip tea or wine on the enclosed/private lanai (view best on second or third floors) or walk uncrowded beaches in either direction. We stayed in Unit 208 in Building A at Fisherman's Cove.This unit was very comfortable, with all the kitchen equipment you would need. There is a lot of storage in the unit. Beach toys and low beach chairs are available in the closet. Guests may use the charcoal bbqs behind the building set by the docks on the bay. The kingsize bed in the master was very comfortable. The bunkbed set up in the second bedroom may not suit everyone. There are two fold up roll away single cots. Very good quality towels were provided as well as professionally laundered bedding. The coin laundromat was only steps away (on each floor). Only three floors but an elevator was appreciated when moving lugguage or groceries.The grounds were beautifully kept. We love watching the water and it changed each day. We often saw a heron keeping the fishing people company. We even saw divers once or twice as well as surfers and beach walkers and joggers. When walking south from the condo, we came across kayers that beached their kayaks on the bay side and then walked over the dunes to the gulf side where we saw them. We even saw about a dozen kayaks in the bay behind the condo one evening after dark. There are several places to rent boats, bikes, etc.The famous white sand at the main Siesta Key beach was firm and a very wide beach with life guards. You can even rent a lounge and sun umbrella. (Go early to get your money's worth.) This beach also has the large parking lot, washrooms and snack bar. Expect it tio be croiwded and parking limited on hot days and during special events. This was our first trip to the Siesta Key area but we hope to return many times! We like to eat at waterfront restarants and we did so almost nightly. Be advised that you will need a car as most of these places were not on Siesta Key itself (except the near by Turtles on Little Sarasota Bay and Boatyard) but ranged from 15 to 40 minutes away (Santa Maria Island, to Venice) . Check out the Mote Aquarium's boat trips. We enjoyed an afternoon on board with a marine biologist and at the onland exhibits. Marina Jack in Sarasota is definitely worth one or two visits, for lunch, sailing excursions, walking in nearby parks. We happened to visit downtown Sarasota during the Chalk Festival. The art work on the closed street was very impressive. Like history? Plan a visit to Historic Spanish Point, off Hwy 41, and ask to join a guided tour,no extra charge. Six of us accompanied a guide on a very interesting and informative two hour walk of the grounds of Spanish Point. For shopping, the grocery store at Crescent Beach was handy. Go out to Hwy 41 and you will find all the big stores and coffee places...if you want that. Hwy 41 is a good road, wide in many parts, but like 'street anywhere'. We did like the fact that signs well back from the intersection provide the name of the street coming up at the lights. Davidson's Drugs near Crescent Grocery has two computers and printer for internet and boarding passes. Our condo rental was the perfect fit for us! It would be a good fit for adults or a family. There are many condos on Siesta Key and they may be on the beach but well back from the water's edge. |
