The Campania region
Campania is currentely and mostly known for the Vesuvius, Pompei, Capri, Ischia and Naples. There is however another Campania which is still undiscovered. It is the south side of this wonderful region. For a long time neglected for difficult of access due to lack of good roads, this land has kept habits and nature unchanged. Wild scenarios, rocky mountains, green hills (all parts of the National Park of Cilento) surround vestiges of the past centuries, everything facing the blue sea of the gulf of Policastro (meaning “many castles”).
On the top of the hills and along the sea small villages give the visitors the feeling of the “good past times”. This world is today accessible and expects to be known for offering relax, pleasure of the discovery, history, magnificent views and, least but not last, great local food.
Sapri area
The Gulf of Policastro is a large gulf facing southward.On both ends rocky mountains plunges abruptly into the sea. In between seven miles of sandy beaches give, for the pleasure of the whole family, direct access to the blue splendid Mediterranean Sea.
On the backside, hills, sleeping behind the beaches, hide a lot of small ancient charming villages from which a bird eye view of the whole gulf is possible. If you are lucky , the top of the Stromboli Volcano, in the Eolian Islands, 110 nautical miles far, could be visible.
Along the coastline, number of old look-out towers, testify of sackings perpetrated by the Saracen pirates. Need of defence has also decided the village conformation. A walk to Vibonati, Ispani or Santa Marina, just to name some of them, cannot be missed.
And don’t miss a visit to Maratea. You’ll go over the “most magnificent 20 kilometers of the Italian coast” and you'll reach a village on top of which, a giant statue of Christ, more than 22 meters high, blesses all the visitors. Don’t miss a visit to Palinuro too. A natural arch joins together mountain and sea. A 30- 40 minute driving time shall not be unusefully spent..
Everywhere good food, good wine, and for child, but not for them only, tasty ice-creams. Typical products such as chilly pepper, sun dried tomatoes and others expect to be tasted.
To more completely enjoy your stay, in a range of 3-4 miles from the house, you’ll find boat renting (Sapri), kayak renting to explore the Bussento river (Policastro).
Villa Lilly is 2.5 miles from Sapri on the way to Vibonati, 1 mile from the centre of Villammare (which is the Vibonati seaside) and , therefore, 1 mile from the nearest beach. Supermarkets, Restaurants, Post Office, Bank, Refilling Station, Bars (along the beach) are within one mile range.
How to get there
Villa Lilly can be reached by car or by train from Naples. We however consider that availability of a car is mandatory for both local transportation and “promenades” in the surrounding magnificent places.
Naples (Capodichino Airport) is served both by British Airways operating from the major UK airports and by Easyjet operating from Stansted airport.
Car renting are available in the Capodichino Airport. Reservation is highly suggested.
Once on the car : Remember. We are crazy people. We drive on the right side of the road ! • Take the highway A3(E45) Naples-Salerno-Reggio Calabria up to Buonabitacolo exit (km 150) (Salerno-Buonabitacolo highway is free). After the exit turn left and then right (before the bridge) • Take the road SS 517 and follow direction Policastro/Sapri (Km 40). This road goes through green valleys down to the sea • At the end of SS 517 (there is T crossing) turn left direction Sapri • After 7 km about turn left for VIBONATI • 1 more km then turn left (second road), continue 30 meters. Brakes on. Relax yourself. You are in vacation.

Water shall be filtered 3 times a day and disinfectant products added once a week (Saturday) at owner’s care. External heated shower.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival at the property.
Cancellation due before 28 days arrival date. In case of late cancellation the deposit will not be refounded.
