The Algarve region
The Algarve has a lovely, temperate climate almost all year round and boasts over 300 days of sunshine annually. Partly for this reason the tourist season extends from March to October and it only really quiets down in the dead of winter. Even then, there are plenty of reasons still to visit this beautiful area of Portugal. There are many days when it is warm and sunny enough to sunbathe or sit outside at the pavement cafes and enjoy the balmy weather. The golf season extends from autumn and spring and golfers can enjoy the warm sunny conditions whilst their own courses at home are unplayable. In summer they can receive discounted green fees at many courses.
Many beaches can be found along the roads both east and west of the villa, but just 6 minutes walk straight outside the resort will bring you to Sao Rafeal beach which was voted Portugal's best beach for 2008. A 5 minute drive eastwards finds Albufeiras' new marina and continue for a further 5 minutes to find the Old Town Beach offering many water sports. To the west finds beaches every 2 kms - Coelha beach, Castelo beach, Evaristo beach and Gale beach.
The local area offers a variety of restaurants including on-site Italian cuisine of Salvatories, Sao Rafeal Beach restaurant ideal for fish lovers, the contemporary furnished Praia Grande restaurant renowned for its chateaubriand and sumptuous deserts, Chinese restaurant & take away plus many others. The Algarve shopping centre at Guia not only has many high street shops but also has a multi screen cinema complex (most films are in English with Portuguese sub-titles) plus a 10 Pin Bowling Alley. The local area also provides walker/ramblers the chance to explore coastal paths displaying magnificent cliffs and rock formations or simply walk along the sands at Gale beach that stretches some 3 or 4 for miles to Armacao de Pera.
The 72 par (6,080 metres) Salgados links golf course is only 3 kms west of the resort. This course presents a different challenge due to the many water hazards and sea breezes. A true test of golf.
Within a 25 minute radius you can drive to many more famous golf courses including the Gramacho & Pinta courses at Carvoeiro, the Vila sol, Pinhal, Millenium and Old Course at Vilamoura, the Pine Cliffs resort course at Pinhal do Concelho featuring one the most photographed holes in golf - the Devils Parlour, a 130 metre carry across a red rock coastal ravine.
There is also a par 3 course for beginners and those wishing to practice their short play at Balaia Golf Village in Albufeira.

"A brilliant holiday with the best accommodation experience to date!"
We loved it here, Gary and Glenis where great to deal with from our initial booking and the accommodation exceeded expectations. Villa 35 is lovely and well positioned with the balcony over looking the pool. We absolutely loved it here, having stayed in Portugal twice previously this was the best accommodation and most relaxing holiday we had in the Algarve. Felt like a home away from home.

This villa in Sao Rafael has it all, it is spacious, light and airy and very well equipped. It has a superb sun terrace, very large and a welcome resting place after a day's sunning on the fabulous local beach. Sao Rafael beach in my opinion is hard to beat, it has a wonderful restaurant/bar and is within walking distance. There are also a few Tavernas and Restaurants within walking distance or you can order a taxi from reception to take you into old town Albufeira where our favourite eating place is Casa Da Fonte and then swiftly heading opposite to Steps Bar for some friendly banter and good live music. What a holiday... have already booked again for 2012.

"Really nice accomodation near a stunning stretch of coastline."
Villa 35 provides very comfortably, well furnished accomodation. The location next to, but above the pool, meant that we could enjoy the view without being looked at. The weather was fantastic for the whole of our 10 day stay with not a cloud in the sky. The terrace faced the sun so that whenever we were at the villa we spent most of our time there. The area in which the villa is located is very attractive. There are nice villas and development is low density. We liked walking to the beach and along the coast. The beaches have fantastic, breath-taking scenery and all have lovely sand and rocks to explore. Each has a beach cafe/restaurant which is nice for a coffee or for lunch. We hired a car so each day we visited a different beach and/or town. This is a lower key area than central Albufeira, which is what we like. We visited two especially nice restaurants within walking distance of the villa. There is a lovely and interesting half day walk to Albufeira along the coastal road and via the new marina. From the Marina you can get a boat trip along the coast. A car is useful for shopping and getting around but not essential as there are buses and taxis are good value. I would definately return to Villa 35 and I would recommend it to families or couples. We felt that the villa was good value for money as there were three adults and we paid £500 between us for 10 days.

"Perfect holiday in a perfect villa."
This was a wonderful family holiday and the Villa played a big part in that. The villa was in a perfect position with everything you could ask for, children friendly. The complex is also just what you need, friendly and laid back with plenty to do, pool is great. Beaches are all near, which are all beautiful, plenty of restaurants locally to choose from. If you want night life it is only a short taxi ride, try Steps bar, great night. I have been a few times and would recommend anybody to stay at Villa 35, the owner is very friendly and supplies plenty of information. In fact I returned with a group of friends for a long golf weekend and stayed in Villa 35. I am hoping to return soon.
