Spacious light and airy 2 bedroom apartment. Set on the edge of town in a quiet area, yet only minutes to the lovely soft sandy beach. Our modern, contemporary furnished apartment benefits from being on the 2nd (top floor) which is the best position of the condominium. It enjoys a commanding view of the area and is just a few steps from the communal roof terrace.The living room and master bedroom have floor to ceiling windows and doors which open out onto the large 33.30 m2 west-facing balcony with built-in brick BBQ where you can relax, enjoy the sun, watch the sunset and enjoy a BBQ meal. The apartment and the area is suitable for children and adults of any age. Wheelchair and pushchair access is not a problem as the elevator from the ground floor opens opposite our front door, so no steps to negotiate.Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday or a more active holiday, this area is suitable for all. The town itself is very family-friendly and the sandy 2-kilometre long beach is perfect for young children owing to the sheltered, crescent shaped bay and the shallow water, so no big waves, unlike many Atlantic beaches. The area is also popular with hikers, cyclists and runners as there are many off-road trails to explore. Several golf courses are nearby and various water sports are available in the summer months. from jet-skiing to surfing. The apartment can accommodate four persons comfortably in the two bedrooms, the lounge sofa can open out as a sofa-bed to sleep two more persons.

The Central Portugal region

Come and enjoy the small easy going friendly town of Sao Martinho do Porto in the stunning mid west coast of Portugal that is the "Costa de Prata" (Silver Coast). This beautiful area of the Estremadura region is blessed with fine sandy beaches with some of the best surf in the world, historic and unspoilt towns and villages, fresh fish and seafood and plenty of good quality wine at very reasonable prices.

There are many places of interest close by, easily reached by car, bus or train.

The neighbouring larger beach resort of Nazare is 12k to the north, as is the water park.

The laid back beach village of Foz D'Arelho with it's lagoon is 10k to the south and is popular with surfers. Great views from the top of the cliff.

Obidos, the dreamy medieval fortified walled town is about 15k away.

Alcocaca with its UNESCO world heritage monastery is about 15k away. This is the largest Monestry in Portugal.

Caldas de Rainha, 20 minutes away be car or 10 minutes away by train. Good for shopping in the cobbled streets, or the modern shopping mall. There is a bowling alley here, cinemas and a go carting track.

Wine tasting at a superb organic vineyard in Cortem, located close to the town of Caldas de Rainha.

The historic town of Tomar with it's castle and and well preserved monestery, founded by the Knights Templar dating back to 1157.

Peniche, a fishing port and from here you can catch a boat to the Berlengas Islands, like a small Scottish Island placed 6 miles off the coast, a must for nature lovers.

Many golf courses are within half an hour drive away.

Sao Martinho do Porto

The bay of Sao Martinho Do Porto has the most stunning beach and is rated as one of the best beaches in Portugal. The enclosed bay and shallow waters ensure that it is safe for children, gentle waves lap the shore and the sand is lovely and soft. The beach is 2k across and this area is popular with families.

The bars, restaurants and cafe's along the sea front and harbour are very good and all reasonably priced.

This really is a clean, safe and laid back town, yet suitable for all ages whether lazing around on the beach to many water sports and leisure activities that are available in the area.

Below are just some of the activities available:

horse riding, trail running, mountain biking, road cycling, gym with sauna, hang-gliding, jet ski-ing, sailing, fishing, canoeing, boat trips, organised walks, large public Lido swimming pool.
