Casa Boa Sorte is a spacious and beautiful air-conditioned villa nestling in the tranquil hillside of Mesquita. It has a large heated salt water pool affording total privacy and enjoys spectacular uninterrupted and panoramic views across the valley and distant sea views. Yet just 1km from the villa, lies the delightful unspoilt town of Sao Bras de Alportel with its restaurants, facilities including an Intermarche supermarket and smart pavement cafe's. An easy 20 minute drive will take you to Loule, the coast and beaches, golf courses and Faro airport. Tavira and the Spanish border town Ayamonte are also within easy reach and Lisbon is a 2hr drive. In fact the location couldn't be more ideal for exploring the best the region and the Algarve has to offer. With the added benefit of the heated pool and very temperate climate that extends from April - October the Algarve is great place for a break out of peak season too - we're sure you'd be pleasantly surprised!

Upper terrace with patio table and heater, chairs and traditional Moorish style barbecue. Wooden swing seat. Lower terrace with sun loungers, parasols and large 12m x 5m salt water (latest and safest salination process which is kind to your skin) swimming pool with pool heating (not overlooked) and pool cover. Extensive and beautifully landscaped private gardens with tranquil seating area under the large pergola. Watch the sunset with its superb elevated views across the valley. Separate children's play area including swing and slide.
The upper terrace looks down onto the lower swimming pool terrace and is separated via a gate with a shoot bolt from the upper to the lower terrace, so young child have no access to the pool. We also have an internal stair gate built in along with baby monitoring devices and a stroller. In addition to pool toys including floats, lilos, inflatables, beach balls etc we also have buckets and spades and a baby beach igloo kept in the laundry room for days at the beach.

If pool heating is required, there is an additional charge of £150 per week. **Highly recommended for swimming at night with the pool lights on under the stars** Air conditioning is included in the advertised price.

Bookings in peak season are Thursday and Saturday, but all dates considered. Entry to the villa is not before 3pm and depature is 10am.

The region experiences hot summers and mild winters, rich in history with an abundance of forts and castles to explore. Great beaches and a fantastic climate allow you to do as much or as little as so desire.
Take a visit along the picturesque coastline to the historic Castro Marim where you will find amazing panoramic views of the sea. Travelling west the rocks, white cliffs and sandy beaches are again beautifully pictureque.
The unspoilt Eastern Coast is breathtaking and inland there are forests, the Monchique mountains where at 'Caldos do Monchique' there is a natural spring purported to have healing waters, where people for centuries have travelled to from all over the world to drink it's waters and be cured of their ailments. These and many other activities from water parks, zoomarine, to nature trails and historic sites there is something for all the family . The river Guardiana meanders and where it meets the mouth of the atlantic separates Portugal from Spain, which is accessed via the Guardiana Bridge where from the villa is only a 30 minute journey. 'Ayamonte' is the first Spanish town you come accross on crossing the Guardiana Bridge and a further hour and a half will take you to 'Seville'. The motorways( (A22, IP1 & EN125) are all well sign posted in both Portugal and Spain, Sao Bras de Alportel is a well known town and sign posted everywhere.
Casa Boa Sorte is therefore exceptionally located for access to both the historical sites, beaches, golf courses and travelling both to central costal (Quinta Do Lago/Vale Do Lobo/Vilamoura resorts) and the beautiful quiet beaches of the Eastern Algarve. The stunning wildlife of the Ria Formosa which is protected habitat is again on your doorstep. What more from a holiday could you possibly ask for, not forgetting Portugals great culinary cuisine (fresh sea food especially).
The Sao Bras de Alportel area
Vale Do Lobo, Quinta Do Lago, Tavira and Faro beaches can all be reached in approx. 20 mins. by car. Where nautical sports are available. Tennis and Horse riding are 5mins and 15mins away. Great location for golf lovers with 'Golden Triangle' Vale Do Lobo, Quinta Do Lago, Vilamoura Golfing resorts 20 mins away West.
Going East Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima championship Golf courses (18 hole ) are approx 20 minutes.
Colinas Verde is 20 minutes (9 holes)..

- By car please see map on 'Area details'. From Lisbon it takes just over 2 hrs on the A2 and again from Seville (Spain) 2 1/2 hrs. Faro airport local and takes aproximately 20-25mins by car to reach the villa.

Our family had a fantastic stay at Casa Boa Sorte. The villa was lovely and equipped with everything you would want for a relaxing holiday in the sun. The location was fantastic, set on a quiet hillside with amazing views. It is only a short drive to the local beaches and shops and has a few nice restaurants close by. The children had a great time playing in the pool, which was far bigger than you would find in most holiday villas. It was also heated, which was an added bonus and meant that the children could swim right into the evening. The villa itself was comfortable and very well equipped, from the sun loungers, pool floats and hammock to the kitchen equipment. It made our stay easy, relaxing and enjoyable. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We all had a great time and are looking forward to visiting Casa Boa Sorte again soon. |

I stayed here for a week with my husband, 8 month old son and my parents and it was absolutely wonderful - the men went to play golf (which was an easy 25 min drive away) while we played by the lovely pool and relaxed in the comfort of the villa! The location itself is beautiful and rural but only a two minute drive to Sao Bras de Alportel which is really quaint and a bit further to Lule, Tavira etc which are bigger and have everything you need. Perfect location really. The villa is incredibly well equipped for children - we used their cot, highchair, stroller, pool toys, monitor..the list goes on! It really took the stress out of traveling with the baby for the first time - ideal. The maid is lovely and friendly too! Absolutely beautiful villa in a gorgeous quiet location but with everything you need a short drive away - a perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. |
