Home description
Situated in the rural village of Calcada, a suburb of Sao Bras de Alportel ( Pronounced serng bras ) this charming farmhouse conversion is one of only two separate Farmhouses, a lounge, kitchen and bathroom, in very well developed gardens with plenty of privacy and a large salt-water outdoor pool - 26ft x 13ft. There is a large 4 Poster bed in the main bedroom, 2 single beds in the second bedroom and a further single bed in an adjacent room, with the possibility of accommodation for an additional young child in our Cot. The Quinta is only 5 minutes walk from the village of Sao Bras, where you can find a large selection of inexpensive, excellent Restaurants, Bars, Shops, etc.
The beautiful market towns of Loule and Tavira are only 15 minutes away. Several Beaches and Golf Courses are all within 20 minutes drive. Quinta da Horta is ideally suited to anyone who requires a relaxing holiday, in beautiful surroundings. A recent addition to Quinta da Horta is fresh eggs, from our Free range-Organic Chickens and Ducks. as well as a selection of tropical birds and Parrots in Aviaries.

The Algarve / East Algarve region
The Algarve is renowned for it's year round warm climate and clean sandy beaches. Also, the Algarve boasts some of the very best Golf Courses in the World. Quinta da Horta welcomes golfers through-out the year and especially in January, February and March. Discounts are available for 6 persons, booking at the same time.
Sao Bras de Alportel / Calcada area
Calcada is situated next to Sao Bras de Alportel and is only 5 minutes walk away, where you will find lots of good restaurants and bars and shops. There are many festivals in the Algarve and there are usually 5 or 6 throughout the year, in Sao Bras.
Loule is only 10 minutes drive away, where there are many shops and great restaurants/bars etc. Loule also hosts the Gypsy market every Saturday, where you can buy many items of clothing. shoes, gifts etc and barter your way to a great deal with the stall holders.
The newly refurbished Market and Loule Castle is a must to visit, you will not be disappointed ! Other places of interest are:- Zoo Marine 30 minutes away, Aqualand 25 mins, Villamoura Harbour 25 mins, Seville 2 hours and of course, many fine Golf Courses, all within 30 minutes drive.
How to get there
-Fly to Faro, Quinta da Horta is less than 20 minutes from the airport - Cheap flights are available from EasyJet, Monarch, BMIBaby, Thomson's, amongst others - Car hire is available through a number of providers, though we recommend www.nicetriprentacar and if you book with us, we will provide a car booking reference that entitles you to a discount from normal rates. Alternately, we can arrange for you to be collected from the Airport by private hire car ( cheaper than Airport Taxis ) and transferred here.

Further details indoors: The Farmhouse retains all the charm and character of the original Bakery that served the area and is equipped to provide all your needs for a truly relaxing holiday.
The accommodation sleeps 5 very comfortably, although there is space for an additional person/child, at no extra cost.
A new Bathroom has been fitted and a Log Burner added to the Lounge.
Further details outdoors: There is a large Barbecue in the Old PigSty , which is adjacent to the Pool and Patio.
The delightful Gardens are full of fragrant, colourful trees and shrubs to enhance the experience.
We now have Free Range Eggs from our Hens and Ducks.
