The Gite des Martin Pecheurs is part of Bourdeverre, a beautifully restored farmhouse set in a glorious location in the heart of La Vienne in south -west France. We are a family run business. Resident all year round we are on hand to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We are classified in the national Gite-des-France catalogue with a 3 star rating.
Facing south and set in over 22 acres of secluded grounds, the gite has wonderful panoramic views over the rolling countryside. Local shops and amenities are just a short drive away. Guests who enjoy fishing are welcome to fish in the River Vonne which crosses the grounds and in Bourdeverre’s own private fishing lake. Bourdeverre lake is well stocked with large carp, tench and roach. The gites are stone farm building that have been carefully restored to create modern, comfortable holiday homes. Guests are welcome to use the heated swimming pool in the grounds.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vienne region
Bourdeverre is located between the lovely towns of Poitiers and Niort in the heart of the Vienne countryside in South west France. An hours drive from the Atlantic coast and the seaside resort of La Rochelle , its a great location for getting around. Families will love all the children activities too, including Futuroscope , the monkey and crocodile park and the magnificent aquarium.
Sanxay area
The pretty village of Sanxay is just 2km from Bourdeverre and has a bar, restaurant, bakers, supermarket and tabac. Sanxay is famous for its ancient roman site. The ancient remains of the temples, thermal baths and amphitheatre are some of the best preserved in the world. Sanxay also has a large open air swimming pool and large paddling pool in a lovely leisure centre next to the river. The medieval chateau of Marconnay just 3 km away is also a great place to visit with its museum and restaurant with local specialities on the menu at very reasonable prices!
How to get there
Travelling by car: We are just 10 minutes away from the autoroute A10 (Paris - Bordeaux). The ferries run to the following ports: St. Malo - 4 hrs to Sanxay Cherbourg/Caen - 5 hrs to Sanxay Dieppe - 6 hrs to Sanxay Boulogne/Calais - 7/8 hrs to Sanxay
Travelling by plane: Our nearest airports are the following: 30 minutes from Poitiers 1 hour from La Rochelle 2 hours from Limoges 1 1/2 hours from Nantes Car hire is available at all the airports.

Further details indoors: Inside the Gite there is a very spacious open plan living area with Kitchen, dining area and salon. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, freezer, washing machine and dish washer and a large breakfast bar. The salon area has sofa and 2 armchairs, telly and dvd player. The patio doors lead out to a huge decking area with bbq and garden furniture. It is south facing with panoramic views over the countryside. There are 3 bedrooms, one single bedroom, one bedroom with bunk beds and the master bedroom with one double bed and a single bed and an en suite shower room with wc. All the bedrooms have patio doors leading onto the terrace. There is also a large family bathroom with bath and wc.
Further details outdoors: Pets corner with chickens and ducks roaming freely and shrek the donkey. Children are welcome to help feed the animals. Also large football pitch with permanent goals and petanque area.
