The Bali / Lesser Sunda Islands / Bali region

The island of Bali is known for its lush rice terraces, rugged mountains, forests, coconut plantations and sandy beaches. Thousands of temples have been built throughout the island, all playing a major part in the lives of the deeply spiritual people.
The Sanur area
I describe Sanur to my friends as the quieter side of Bali. There are very few night clubs and it doesn't have the hustle & bustle of say Kuta or Denpasar.
A great range of hotels and Vilas to suit all tastes and budgets, a miriad of restaurants and warungs with seaside boardwalks and typical Balinese style of shopping.
There is little to no surf so this crowd is not catered for but for snorkling and diving this side of Bali caters for all. There is a special uniqueness about Sanur that exudes peace, quiteness and plenty of reading time. At the same time quality eating of traditional and not so traditional fare is available.

We really enjoyed our stay here, and ended up extending it from 2 days to our full month. Sindu Guesthouse is a small, calm, very clean and homelike oasis in an otherwise pulsating turistic city. It is in a friendly neighbourhood, and close to markets, beachfront, and cafes. All you need really. And if you feel that Bali gets a little hectic, then it is nice to retun to a host who greats you personally, is always around, helps you out with whatever and does so with a smile - all the while treating you like a genuine friend. During our stay Dave helped us arrange tours with great, trustworthy, and cheaper, guides than we could find ourselves, took us riverrafting and arranged Balineese New Years (Nyepi) for us. We have recomended this to everyone we met, we wil defenately come back, and we already mis having tea and breakfast in the gazebo before hitting the beach and markets. Sindu Guesthouse is relaxed and friendly, and so much more "bali lifestyle" than the big hotels! We loved every bit of it. Response: Thank you for your positive review. It was a pleasure having you both as guest's.Hope to see you in the near future. |
