An unforgettable experience. Our goal is to make you feel that Fava is your own home and Santorini, your island.
The Fava Residences, which opened in 2013, are housed in a splendid and unique captain house of the mid 19th century, located at the highest point of the traditional village of Finikia. The architects and owners of the property, Thomas, Dora and Antonis Gavalas, started the rebuilt in the 1980's with love and care and they transformed it into a spacious and modern, though with respect to the original traditional form, summer house. Today, the building offers its hospitality in three individual fully furnished self-catering apartments that offer a sense of 19th century history combined and harmonized with modern amenities and services, located in the heart of the most picturesque and virgin from the tourist development village of the island. Fava is just a stone's throw from the magnificent Oia and away from the crowds and noise.
You will enjoy the wonderful views over the village, the famous sunset of the island and the Aegean Sea with the close Ios, Sikinos and Folegandros islands on the horizon.
Aeolos is a romantic and private traditional old style individual apartment of 57 m2 fitted with all the modern amenities, with 4 meter high ceilings that can accommodate 2 to 3 people in two separated bedrooms with individual bathrooms with shower, a comfortable fully equipped kitchen and access to a totally private breathtaking yard. The apartment is furnished with antiques, according to the traditional naval history of the first owners. Due to the bioclimatic vernacular construction of the residence, the internal Temperature varies between 21 and 24 Degrees Celsius throughout the summer period. You will have the privilege to enjoy the magnificent Santorini sunset and sunrise from your own terrace enjoying the breakfast or dinner. In the house you will also find 24-7 Wi-Fi access, plasma TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, CD player with Classical Music CD's and multilingual Books.

The Aegean Islands region
A place blessed by God and nature and yet so troubled by fate. Magnificent and wild, Santorini is unique throughout the world for its stunning natural beauty, result of the volcanic eruption of the 16th century BC. A place like a chest of rock on which the whitewashed villages hang like acrobats on the edge of the cliffs and on the other side lay beautiful black volcanic beaches and crystal clear deep waters. Apart from its incomparable beauty, the island offers relaxing moments in authentic Cycladic environment, exceptional gastronomic choices, rich nightlife and a unique study the ancient culture that has a history of over 3,500 years.
During the 18th and 19th century, the village of Oia experienced the prosperity of the naval merchandise. In Finikia lived the farmers who worked in the valley and vineyards, but also the captains of Oia had their summer homes and canavas. In the early 20th century there were over 150 canavas that were left off after the war and the devastating earthquake of 1956 brought the village to abandon. Since the mid 1970's slowly and with patience, new residents began to return and to reconstruct the old houses on permanent or holiday homes. Today, Finikia is a small, well-preserved traditional village now united with Oia with just 10 minutes walking distance. You can stay and experience the feeling of tranquility and authenticity, visiting the beautiful beaches and vineyards in the vicinity of the village.
