An unforgettable experience. Our goal is to make you feel that Fava is your own home and Santorini, your island.
The Fava Residences, which opened in 2013, are housed in a splendid and unique captain house of the mid 19th century, located at the highest point of the traditional village of Finikia. The architects and owners of the property, Thomas, Dora and Antonis Gavalas, started the rebuilt in the 1980's with love and care and they transformed it into a spacious and modern, though with respect to the original traditional form, summer house. Today, the building offers its hospitality in three individual fully furnished self-catering apartments that offer a sense of 19th century history combined and harmonized with modern amenities and services, located in the heart of the most picturesque and virgin from the tourist development village of the island. Fava is just a stone's throw from the magnificent Oia and away from the crowds and noise.
You will enjoy the wonderful views over the village, the famous sunset of the island and the Aegean Sea with the close Ios, Sikinos and Folegandros islands on the horizon.
Aeolos is a romantic and private traditional old style individual apartment of 57 m2 fitted with all the modern amenities, with 4 meter high ceilings that can accommodate 2 to 3 people in two separated bedrooms with individual bathrooms with shower, a comfortable fully equipped kitchen and access to a totally private breathtaking yard. The apartment is furnished with antiques, according to the traditional naval history of the first owners. Due to the bioclimatic vernacular construction of the residence, the internal Temperature varies between 21 and 24 Degrees Celsius throughout the summer period. You will have the privilege to enjoy the magnificent Santorini sunset and sunrise from your own terrace enjoying the breakfast or dinner. In the house you will also find 24-7 Wi-Fi access, plasma TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, CD player with Classical Music CD's and multilingual Books.
A bottle of the finest Santorini white wine or a traditional handmade quince sweet will welcome you on your house.

The Aegean Islands region
A place blessed by God and nature and yet so troubled by fate. Magnificent and wild, Santorini is unique throughout the world for its stunning natural beauty, result of the volcanic eruption of the 16th century BC. A place like a chest of rock on which the whitewashed villages hang like acrobats on the edge of the cliffs and on the other side lay beautiful black volcanic beaches and crystal clear deep waters. Apart from its incomparable beauty, the island offers relaxing moments in authentic Cycladic environment, exceptional gastronomic choices, rich nightlife and a unique study the ancient culture that has a history of over 3,500 years.
During the 18th and 19th century, the village of Oia experienced the prosperity of the naval merchandise. In Finikia lived the farmers who worked in the valley and vineyards, but also the captains of Oia had their summer homes and canavas. In the early 20th century there were over 150 canavas that were left off after the war and the devastating earthquake of 1956 brought the village to abandon. Since the mid 1970's slowly and with patience, new residents began to return and to reconstruct the old houses on permanent or holiday homes. Today, Finikia is a small, well-preserved traditional village now united with Oia with just 10 minutes walking distance. You can stay and experience the feeling of tranquility and authenticity, visiting the beautiful beaches and vineyards in the vicinity of the village.

"Stunning views and peaceful stay"
My friend and I stayed in Fava for five nights - we were looking for a relaxing stay after the craziness of Ios and we were not disappointed. A beautiful place with gorgeous views out to the town and sea. A great place to experience the magnificent Oia - allowing you to then escape to your own paradise. Thank you for a perfect ending to the Greek islands.

"Lovely stay for 7! Definitely recommend for families and friends traveling."
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Oia at Fava Residence. Antonis and Mr. Stathis (groundskeeper) were amazing. The location was easily accessible to the main street for shops and restaurants. The restaur… More

"Santorini at its best!"
This was our second visit to Santorini, the 1st being 30 years ago. We found the Aeolos Suite to be an excellent base for us to explore the island from. It is situated at the heart of a traditional Greek village and we loved listening and watching the every day life of the locals, although we cannot speak Greek it was not difficult to guess what the village chat was about. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the terrace taking in the last sun of the day, and listening to the silence of the village. The suite is well presented, clean and well maintained. It is a 20 minute walk into Oia, a walk we enjoyed, and was far enough from Oia to be away from the bustle of this main tourist attraction. The owners were very welcoming and gave good advice on the best sites and places to dine. We hope it wont be 30 years before we visit again and we certainly wouldn't hesitate on returning to the Aeolos suite!!!!!!

"A True Island Experience"
What a magical week we spent on Santorini in large part because of our stay at Fava Residence in the small village of Finikia a 10 minute walk from the fabled sunset town of Oia. Owners Antonis and Dora Gavalas epitomize Greek hospitality. Their welcome ways and love of the island provide a memorable introduction for all there is to see of Santorini. For an authentic village experience within walking distance to Oia Fava Residence is the place to stay.

"Authentic Santorini gem!"
What a lovely place to stay! Antonis is a fantastic host. We really could not have asked for a better introduction to Santorini. He organised a minibus to collect us from the port and on arrival he sat down with us to give a tailor-made guide to the island that was invaluable. Also waiting in the fridge was some delicious local wine.
The place is just as it appears in the photos - an authentic traditional house - with stunning views over the north coast of Santorini. Very clean and comfortable with a spectacular rooftop that wraps all around the building. Sunset and sunrise from this spot are magnificent! The location is terrific for those of you that want to be just outside of the hustle and bustle without feeling like you're missing out on the action. Finikia has some great restaurants to explore but if you feel like even more selection, the beautiful town of Oia is just a short walk away. It was an awesome experience and we can't recommend this place highly enough! We'll definitely be back!
