The Aegean Islands region

The climate is hot but with a breeze blowing especially in August which makes sunbathing pleasant most of the time except when strong winds are blowing.
There is much historical interest in the island and Akrotiri was the centre of the Theran Civilisation dating back 4,000 BC.The Volcanic explotion in 1600 BC signalled the end of Minoian civilisation In Crete.The volcano in itself now inactive attracts a lot of visitors .Please see Santorini Tourist sites for information


Santorini / Pharos area

Akrotiri, Pharos, Perissa,Vlychada,Perivolos, Red Beach all within 10 mins drive whilst Kamari beach is 15 mins drive.The towns Fira ,Merovigli and Oia are within 15-20 mins drive.
Captain Dimitris taverna next to the property makes easy any food arrangements whilst there are plenty of panoramic view restaurants in close proximity.


How to get there

Fly to Athens OA ,BA and then to Santorini with OA, Aegean Airlines or to Santorini direct with Excel and then from the airport hire a car or take a taxi direction Akrotiri and then direction Pharos.You will see signs /adverts to Captain Dimitris taverna.Once you arrive at the Taverna enter the group of four properties with the tennis court on the right .Park the car and the very first property on the entrance and closest to the sea is our property.You will see a hot tub on the terrace so you will know it is the right one.
