About this location
The Galicia region
From Ceilan you are 25km from the nearest beach at Noia and the whole Atlantic coast line.
Visit Combarro a lovely old fishing town which is so picturesque it has been declared a historic monument. It represents the three elements of traditional Galician architecture, the raised granaries, sea houses and crosses, and it is also famous for its good food.
To the south is Vigo and the "Rias Baixas" where you can take a boat trip to the Islas Cies a nature reserve where you can spend a day without the car or go the spa at La Toja and relax in the curative waters.
Galicia is also a very green and mountainous area so there are plenty of places to ramble. Or if you enjoy horse riding there are several stables near the house.
Santiago de Compostela
Santiago de Compostela is in Northwest of Spain and is famous for its Cathedral and historical building and University. It is also the end destination of all the pilgrimage routes of Camino de Santiago, which has been proclaimed a World Heritage site by UNESCO and was one of the most important pilgrimage for Christians during medieval times, together with Rome and Jerusalem. The most famous celebration in Santiago de Compostela is in a July festival that culminates in the so-called 'Fire of the Saint', a world-renowned service in the cathedral where the priests swing the enormous incense burner through the length of the aisle,
The city of La Coruña has several child friendly museums and an Aquarium along with the largest shopping centre in Europe and a beautiful "old town".
