The Sardinia region
Sardinian climate is mild during Spring and Autumn, hot in Summer. Generally speaking, being Sardinia an island it is also windy. Nature is really beautiful all around the island, beaches and sea are also spectacular.
Santa Teresa di Gallura / Rena Majore area
There are some spots that I suggest you to visit during your staying:
the house is 800 metres from wonderful beaches. between the village and the beaches there is a large pinewood. if the weather is sunny is very pleasent to go trekking in the pinewood (there are a lot of unpaved roads) or along the cost: there are no buildings on the cost for many kms, just sea, sand, rocks, nature. You can find some photos of the beaches typing on the web "rena majore".
Gallura, the region of Sardinia in which Rena Majore is, offers a lot of things to do and to see: by car is possible to visit La maddalena archipelago (30 minutes) from the house) or the inner Gallura with Limbara montain (high 1200 metres). It is possible to ride horses (near Aggius for example, 30 kms from Rena majore, but also in other places).
If you like to walk Rena Majore beaches and pinewood is ideal, with fantastic sunset. just go around in the unpaved roads near the village, they reach wonderful beaches.
La Maddalena Archipelago: Just in front of Palau cost, 30 minutes from Rena Majore, 10 minutes of ferry. La maddalena town is really nice, Caprera, an island connected to La Maddalena by a Bridge is a National Park: it really worths driving around the narrow roads with fantastic landscapes on the Archipelago
From Santa Teresa or Palau there are also boat tours to the little islands of the Archipelago
Near Santa Teresa there is Capo Testa, the northest cape of Sardinia: it is a little natural reserve, just rocks, sea, a light house and, over the sea, Corsica.
In the inland Tempio Pausania is nice and also Aggius (here there is a wonderful agriturismo called "il muto di Gallura" really nice food and arrange also horse tours) and nearby its "Moon Valley" (during nights rock granitical montains are enlighted and create a dreaming atmoshere).
Limbara Montain (1250 metres) offers a superb alpine view over Sardinia and Corsica).
From Santa Teresa there is also a regular ferry service to Bonifacio, in Corsica. It takes an hour. the French town is really nice. it is possible to leave the car at Santa Teresa port. The service is cheap (6-7 euros).
