About the home
Only metres from Santa Pola Centro's Blue Flag beach, and minutes from the 16th Century fort, our flat is brilliantly located to enjoy the best of a very special town. Alicante airport is a convenient 15 minute drive away and we can arrange to collect you.
Arriving by lift (or stairs if you prefer), our 4th floor apartment is light, airy and comfortably furnished. The kitchen and bathroom have just been re-furbished with all new appliances. We have a lovely double room, a twin room, and a single room with a spare bed suitable for a child. In addition, there's a balcony and sitting room with TV, DVD and radio.
French windows and celiing fans keep it cool in the summer, double glazing helps keeps it warmer in the winter.
Great restaurants, shops and bars, miles of great beach, watersports, fishing harbour and the marina are all within minutes' walk, with great golfing also nearby. Siesta is generally from 1-5pm so the shops shut, but the restaurants stay open!
Pola Park is also a walk or a bus ride away and a great day out for families, with slides and rides a plenty! Dive schools and snorkelling trips are easy to book from the Marina.
All our guests are looked after by Patricia who lives locally in Santa Pola and speaks English, Spanish and French - she takes the bookings, arranges for airport transfers if you want, and is generally available to help if you have any queries or problems - we can't recommend her highly enough.

All bookings will be finalised through our English-speaking agent, Patricia, in Santa Pola, available to greet you at the airport if you wish. When you confirm your booking, she will send you a form, ask you for a deposit if we don't know you well, and take the rest of your payment in Euros on arrival.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region


Santa Pola is one of the jewels of Valencia, lying on the southernmost stretch of the province of Alicante in a calm bay. It's mild climate and the hospitality of its people make this major fishing port a must.
Beautifully laid out squares intermingle with busy streets and historic ruins and in the centre of the town stands one of the most impressive castles and fortresses in the area, dating from the 16th century. In the park Palmeral you'll find a wonderful Roman mosaic on display, along with the remains of a Roman villa and the Roman fish factory.
Opposite the castle is the Plaza de la Glorieta which comes alive in the evenings as all the locals meet to chat.The town also offers a marine museum, located close to the new town hall (used to be the police station), several towers and viewpoints and a boat ride to the nearby island of Tabarca.
If you tire of the beaches then you can discover the beauty of the nearby natural park of Las Salinas where you may be lucky enough to see the resident flamingos.
Santa Pola is a wonderful town, thriving on tourism yet managing to retain its culture and tradition. Miles of golden beaches stretch the full length of the town, the port is a hive of activity, day and night and the town has an ambience that suits all ages.
The Santa Pola area
On arrival, you may wish to visit the tourist office. It's attached to the town hall which is the building opposite Hotel Polamar, only about 100 metres from the apartment.
The resort has 6 beaches, all with golden sand and a fully operational fishing port and sports marina. All manner of water sports can be found here and because of the fishing industry, fresh fish can be found all over the town's restaurants. Daily markets have fresh fish, straight off the boats. The Saturday market, near the park is a bargain hunter's paradise.
The well-organised marina offers sailing, fishing and regattas. The Santa Pola Nautical Club is one of the finest sites on the coast with a rowing, sailing and canoeing school. Diving is also popular in the clear waters. Because of the heights of the Santa Pola Cape, you can also enjoy paragliding and hang gliding.
Throughout the year Santa Pola has a number of important fiestas in which locals and visitors participate. The year starts with a colourful and noisy fiesta to break the winter monotony. In March and April come the half-year pageants of the Moors and Christians. In June there is a Romeria or pilgrimage to the hermitage on the cape and just before mid-summer, on July 16th, the local sailors pay tribute to their patron saint, La Virgen del Carmen. The highlight of the year has to be between 1st and 8th September in honour of La Virgen de Loreto with street processions, parades and giant parties. The year finishes its fiesta cycle on December 10th with the arrival of the Mother of God, by sea.

Alicante is the nearest airport to Santa Pola and is well served by airports across the UK. From Manchester for example, we fly low cost regularly with Monarch, BMI and Jet2.
On your arrival our agents will have to meet you at some point to give you keys so, if you wish we can arrange for them to pick you up from the airport and take you to the apartment. Similarly at the end of your stay they can return you to the airport.
A hire car is not essential for a holiday in Santa Pola, as the town is only a 15 minutes taxi ride from the airport, and everything you need is within walking distance from the apartment. However' if you are the more adventurous type wishing to explore, many car hire companies have desks at Alicante airport. Note the best deals on cars are available by booking online before you go.
If going by taxi from the airport ask for the "Hotel Polamar, Santa Pola Centro", this is the best known hotel in Santa Pola, being literally on the Playa de Levante beach in the centre of Santa Pola. You can see the apartment from the hotel main entrance - we'll give you more detail from there on confirmation of booking.

Stayed in the apartment with 2 other friends (mums escaping for the weekend!). It all seemed so stress free - a 20 Euro cab journey from the airport and you are there. Cross the street to a lovely beach (we were swimming in NOVEMBER!), and there is a little beach bar. Within seconds of the flat you can pick a couple of places for breakfast/tapas/beer (very reasonably priced), and a number of great shoe shops!!! (Try Renatta's just a couple of doors to the left as you leave the flat!!! - take extra spending money and a bit of extra bag space!). My Spanish is a bit weak but the locals were very encouraging and friendly and we muddled through happily. It has the makings of an easy holiday (for kids, couples or friends) given that the apartment has been renovated (new kitchen and bathroom) has 3 good sized rooms and a balcony and mostly thats its BANG on the beach. These prices are in Euros. The Holiday Lettings website sometimes calculates an automatic excahnge rate in pounds sterling but we do ask for payment in cash, in Euros, on arrival. We also usually ask for a deposit up front to secure your booking, unless you are a regular guest we know well. Our minimum stay is 5 nights but we are happy to discuss offers and discounts or to make exceptions in certain circumstances. Please just get in touch.
